I am starting a new thread and repeating what I had written in the old thread which had too many responses to follow coherently.

I am not sure what td47 means as I don't have this issue as I only use DuckDuckGo which is there when open a new tab.

What want to know how you get the icons in the header of the screen to be "seeable". I believe with my header I always had white print which is now nearly invisible. Not only that but all the icons up there shrank and became outlines only instead of solid objects! I have cats batik_01 theme. It seems all the themes I have ever used had write print but I got by ok til now. Is it that I have to have a lighter toned theme in order to see everything up there again or what?

I'd take a screenshot but you can't of the header/or I don't know how to do this.

I have my Firefox settings to open search results links in a new tab. I can get this to happen with Google, but I *rarely* use it. I prefer Bing. My settings are for links to open in a new tab, and they won't do that with Bing.

I have read what others have suggested about fixing this problem. I made changes in about:config with no result. I opened in Firefox safe mode and didn't find anything on my own. Will check out any tips though.

This has only recently become an issue. I know that Ads have always opened in the same tab and I do not care to right-click or use ctrl.

Another issue I suddenly had with the latest new design update was that when I used the Bing search box, it started switching to an address bar search. I was able to fix that.

Anyone know a sure cure?

I cannot enter anything into the search field of the Firefox home page. If I go to Google.ca, it works fine. I have the same problem signing onto my bank's web site. I cannot enter anything into the field to take my debit card number. I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it to no avail. If I use the TAB button to go to the next field, it always skips the field I am having trouble with.

[Firefox v89.0 64bit] Screen reader stops working with Firefox whenever Firefox is closed and reopened

Hello!

I've been using Firefox with a screen reader for a few months now because I recently had issues arise with my vision and needed to get one. I use NVDA, which is a free screen reader, and before the update to version 89.0, it worked flawlessly, but the new update has created a unique issue that I haven't found a fix for.

Say hypothetically that I am using Firefox and my screen reader is working fine with it. If I close Firefox and then re-open it, all webpages, including the new tab page, can no longer be read by my screen reader. All it will speak is the tab title or the word "unknown" whenever focusing on the webpage. This also happens when the computer is first turned on. The only way I can temporarily fix the issue is by reinstalling Firefox via the latest installer I've gotten from Mozilla's site, and once the installer itself opens Firefox, it works again. If I close the program or restart my computer, I need to run the installer again to fix the issue.

This isn't too big of a deal for me, since it doesn't take long to run the installer and Firefox is reliable after that, but I could see this being a bigger issue for other people with vision issues if they aren't aware of the installer fix. Does anyone know of a solution for this problem? I know it's a rather specific issue that doesn't apply to a majority of Firefox users, but this is a notable accessibility issue that I wanted to bring up since there doesn't seem to be a permanent solution to the issue in version 89.0 of Firefox and nobody else has seemed to have reported the issue as of when I'm writing this.

Additionally, if this helps, my current installation of NVDA is marked at version 2020.4. If any more specific information is needed, please let me know and I will try to provide it as quickly as I can. I also don't know if this is necessarily an issue of Firefox needing to fix support with NVDA or if NVDA is the one I should be contacting about this, but just since I'm getting this odd behavior only when closing and re-opening Firefox, I wanted to ask here first.

Thank you!

Roboform password keeper cannot fill in user or pw on Mozilla login page

Please see below, this discussion with Roboform tech that RF cannot fill in username or pw on Mozilla login page. Is it really Mozilla’s intention to make it impossible for a password keeper program to store and login to Mozilla on the Firefox browser, but to force people to use some other browser to do such a login that customers may have to do several times a day?

“Thank you for your message. We have reviewed and responded to your message "RF sees no forms to fill on Mozilla Firefox login page" (#1059819).

Natalia replied (2021/06/13 04:49 pm EDT): Hello.

Firefox prohibits access to this URL to extensions, so RoboForm cannot save a Login for this address when you visit it in Firefox.

If you try to use this URL in any other browser, you will be able to save a Login and then use it to log in your Firefox account.

You wrote (2021/06/13 11:33 am EDT): RF sees no forms to fill on Mozzilla login page. I've tried reinstalling Moz and RF, no help. RF still works on other pages as always. There are some file(s) attached - Log in RFSS to see them.

Mozilla Support, I look forward to your reply. As it is now, I can only login to Mozilla using my long, strong pw, by copying it from secure storage location and pasting in...very slow and tedious. Thanks for your consideration.

Best regards, Tim Warlick

I am using an offline web page as my default firefox home page and all was going well until I enabled sync. Now when I boot up firefox two things happen. It changes the address for my home page file to a folder NOT on this computer (the desk top) and won't retain the address I need for that folder.

I have just tried editing the bookmark for page. At the moment it seems to be working but I think sync is causing this issue and wonder if there is a fix for it?

Thank you.

Hello,

My questions concerns the "Remove Folder" selection.

I right-clicked a folder on the bookmarks drop-down menu, and accidentally selected remove folder. Does this mean that the folder has been deleted or does it mean that it has been collapsed and the constituent book marks have been moved elsewhere (other bookmarks, bookmark toolbar, etc).

If the folder has in fact been deleted, is there any way of retrieving it?

Thank you for your help.

I'm using Windows 10.

I currently back up most of the files on my computer with a program that watches files and uploads them to cloud whenever they change. I'm wondering if this would be an effective way to back up my Firefox profiles, given that I usually have Firefox open.

I've noticed the article on (manually) backing up profiles says to close Firefox prior to copying the profile folder. Is that just to prevent users from getting tripped up by the lock file? Or is there another reason for it?
