When I download with this browser, I cannot open the file and it states download has "failed". Any other browser I use allows me to open the file. I use Firefox most often because I like the way it performs, but the download issue causes me to look elsewhere for a viable browser. I cannot seem to find what is causing the download failure and am hoping you can offer a reason that will provide a fairly quick fix.

hi, in my older laptop i have no problem downloading pdf files. Canva or webpages that open as pdf file. But in my new laptop i have idm downloader installed. download helper is also installed yet pdf file is not downloading. In canva it is not downloading at all. in case of pdf webpage the page is staying white with no action. What should i do. I searched web about this but never got an answer. even now i don't know if i explained the problem in a way you could understand

I've DONE the following already- and it still doesn't work: If you're using Firefox In the Firefox menu bar, select the hamburger icon in the upper-right corner, and then select Settings.

Select Privacy & Security in the left panel.

Under Permissions, find Device apps and services, and select Settings.

In the settings window, use the dropdown menu next to the https://www.adobe.com to change permissions, and then select Save Changes.

Find Local network access under Permissions, and select Settings.

Use the dropdown menu next to https://www.adobe.com to change permissions, and then select Save Changes.

I've file download feature in my web application. When polling of file percentages is complete i am sending file to the client (browser) But in fire fox it downloading an .html file instead of actual file. Whereas in chrome it working as expected.

Using the Firefox 151.0 Mozilla Firefox for Fedora. Updated as of 23 May 2026, I use just a generic FireFox. I don't customize it, I just use it as it comes from the Fedora distribution.

I cannot save images (right click menu "Save Image As"). Nothing happens when that is selected. This worked a couple weeks ago.

Downloads are supposed to go to ~/Downloads. Checking the setting for this, Go to the three-line menu > Settings > General > Files and Applications, under Downloads, the "Save files to" value is set to Downloads, but the Browse button does not work to reset it. Nothing happens when I poke on the button. I can select the text in the box, but I can't change it.

I found the help page for "What to do if you can't download or save files https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cant-download-or-save-files and went thru every one of the steps there. None of them make any difference.

Strangely enough, there isn't even a "Downloads button" in the top toolbar. If I right click on the top toolbar and select "Customize Toolbar" it shows a downloads icon as already being in the toolbar, but when I click Done, it goes away.

Hi-

In the past week or so, I suddenly stopped being able to download/save files or upload files from Firefox. I get a message that says something like "You don't have permission to open this file". This happens regardless of the location of the file (ie locally on the device, a USB drive, a server drive, one drive etc.).

This happens on two different workstations, one is Windows 11 and one is Windows 10 but both use the same Windows login.

If I try a different browser, I am able to save or upload so I don't think it is a network permissions issue.
