Why do you guys always manage to break a feature with any new update?

For 148.0, you have caused the "Check for updates" button [available under Help > About Firefox] to completely disappear (even though it was here and working perfectly fine a few seconds ago with 147.0.4), creating an unnecessary blank space below the Firefox logo.

On another note, the new font for the logo is a very poor choice, it's a weird combination of square and rounded edges with weird proportions. Who validated this choice?

I have a situation - which I had previously researched and resolved - that has come back to haunt me.

I use an ultra-widescreen monitor and searching/browsing obviously necessitates a center-screen search box which, up until now, Firefox has provided cleanly and with simplicity. However, I see that (once again) despite cursor placement in the center-screen box the search text is being entered in the address bar which is wholly impractical for me since I have to look about 60 degrees left and upwards to see what I am typing.

I say "again" because when this happened previously I was able to make a config change and resolve it but despite that still being in effect - the ".handoffToAwesomebar" is still set to FALSE - search text now has moved back to the address bar.

A brief search of this community yielded no answers. Is there any other known fix or has this now be thrust upon us permanently and thou shalt adapt?

Hi, I'm trying to stop search from jumping to the address bar.

browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar is not working.

Nor is keyword.enabled.

Cleared the cache etc. Odd time it works but goes back once restarted.

It has worked in the past. Could you help please Thanks Guy

i'm not connecting to my web site www.kroger.com something has me blocked . i tried everything to get in the message says secured connection failed . i called kroger stores and they said it is an internet problem .

I sent another help request on this subject but that too seems to have gone AWOL so I am trying again.

My passwords are being randomly wiped from my PC yet again but this time, although they are still on my Google Pixel 7 phone, Sync is not working for passwords. Strangely however, tabs are being synced.

I have tried every suggestion that I have found but syncing is just not happening.

To re-cap:- Passwords are not being synced from phone to PC Tabs are being synced between phone and PC.

Any suggestions?

I am running Firefox 148.0 and Thunderbird 148.0. I am in the process of moving everything to a new (to me) computer that will run Windows 11. When I start Firefox from the start menu or the taskbar everything runs as expected. I have the Adblock Plus extension plus several others running. If I click on a Hyperlink in a email in Thunderbird instead of opening in a new tab into the currently open copy of Firefox as it did on my old computer running Windows 10 it opens in a new window with no extensions. I am assuming that I have something set incorrectly. Any help as to where I should look to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I bought a new computer, downloaded Firefox, but cannot figure out how to import all my bookmarks and passwords. (The old computer is out of commission at a repair shop.)

Today, "prioritized email" notifications started to show up in the lower right hand corner of the monitor. They are very annoying! How do I prevent from appearing on the screen?

I have had so much trouble w/ FireFox VPN. At this point I'm convinced Google is paying the CEO and crash Mozilla straight into the ground. I paid for annual sub, then like something changed (they couldn't honor one of the services (email relay maybe?)) and then I had VPN for a bit and then all of a sudden it got cancelled. Now I have it turned on after they took a while to get back to me about asking why it was turned off (I guess at least they got back to me eventually), but when I go to check my account info about when my renewal is becuase I'm highly thinking about going over to DuckDuckGo and WaterFox, I click on "Paid subscriptions" options and get a refresh of the page w/ a "failed to load page, contact support" every single time. Then when I follow link to "contact support" I get a community forum option, It's giving BROKE!! I really have loved FireFox for so long but I'm thinking this might be the end. I even tried working for Mozilla, but decided not to due to the Five stage interview process, which clearly is not working out for them. Were they really able to screen the best of the best developers with that type of interview process? I digress...

when trying to access my pension account after I have entered my details, the account asks for my PIN. I cannot enter a number as password manager pops up with the 'manage password box'.

First, please explain the relationship among Firefox, Mozilla and DuckDuckGo. Second, how to make Firefox open when compuetr starts. Third, how to make DDGo the search engine. Finally, how to delete email contacts. I have been doing some, but others show a red triangle and say "cannot delete this". I strongly disagree with the proposed AI-centric direction for Firefox. I already disable any current AI features in this browser and disagree with them being there at all. I am firmly anti-AI in the form/use that is most prevalent. I don't want an AI chatbot or AI summaries. AI is not a replacement for human thought. It cannot perceive. It cannot understand. It cannot communicate. Even if it produces a convincing enough mimicry of those things to convince some people that it is capable of doing those things. It's like that IBM training slide from 1979 that says "A computer can never be held accountable, therefore a computer must never make a management decision." Firefox's blog entry about these proposed updates is full of nothing but glittering generalities, just buzz-phrases like "you're in control" and "a better browser" and "trusted companion." AI is not a trusted companion. AI is hyper-advanced autocorrect. And with AI's harshness on the environment (requires astronomical and unsustainable amounts of water) and on the browser itself (slows it down considerably and makes it more vulnerable to security breaches like prompt injection attacks), I just don't think "everybody else is doing AI" is a valid reason to override the main reason most Firefox users use it (because of its lack of AI features and focus on privacy). I'm a long-time user of Firefox and I have really enjoyed it, but one of the biggest issues I have had with it in the last few years is disabling all the AI garbage features that keep getting sneaked in. If AI use or AI-driven features become a substantial part of Firefox, I won't be using it anymore.

Starting the month of February 2026, I cannot get into the following websites anymore to do my on-line shopping. Walmart.com and King Sooper grocery store (Kroeger). I get messages to try again later all the time. If I use another browser such as Edge or Chrome, I can get in no problem. Not sure what is going on??? I chatted with Customer Service Reps at both sites, they don't know why I cannot get in with Firefox, unless some of your security certificates have expired. Help!! - Stan
