Is there a way to just paste a file with path for uploading. In the windows dialogue I can do that to bypass waiting, but in the linux dialogue 1. I really have to wait for all folder content to be shown (I just tried that on a network drive with a quarter million images) 2. I cannot just type paths that are hidden but I know they exist

Firefox continuously hangs and locks up. It has 15 or 20 processes running and then stops responding when I click on a link. I shut down Firefox and restart and it runs fine. I restarted this session 10 minutes ago and searched for "Limit Firefox sessions" and it already has 14 processes running.

Something is wrong with that.

In "Performance", I Unchecked "Use recommended performance settings" and checked " Use hardware ..."

I'm using Firefox in a kiosk-mode application, on a Raspberry Pi based system, started from a bash script like this:

# Clear history etc. to prevent problems if unit is not perfectly shut down rm -v -r /home/pi/.mozilla/firefox/*.default rm -v -r /home/pi/.mozilla/firefox/*.default-esr rm -v -r /home/pi/.cache/mozilla/firefox/*.default rm -v /home/pi/.mozilla/firefox/profiles.ini

sleep 2

/usr/bin/firefox-esr --kiosk -url http://127.0.0.1

However on booting I get a banner from Mozilla along the top of the screen saying: "Firefox automatically sends some data to Mozilla so that we can improve your experience [Choose what I share]"

This is not acceptable in kiosk mode, as it would give users access to the configuration as well as being a visual annoyance. How can we disable this?

I have tried deleting all the browser data as well as shutting done firefox and reopening. All of the above still seem to work in Chrome.

Thanks

Hi, i downloaded the recent update on 6th March, and it wiped out all my saved passwords along with the password manager, so i had to fill in the details for each visit and to each site i visited. Fortunately i did a system restore to a previous date and got all the details back, the firefox update returned but i cancelled it this time, Are you aware of this and if so are you correcting it, thanks, Malcolm.

Have been using Firefox 133.03 on Mint 22 Cinnamon for a couple of weeks now, but I have a number of randomly missing favicons in my bookmark toolbar. I have extensively googled the issue and tried pretty much all the remedies I could find: just click on the place holder icon to refresh, delete the bookmark and place it again, use the Checkmark extension, check the integrity of the favicon DB, delete the favicon and places.sqlite files, clear the cache. Doing these things repeatedly and repeatedly restarting Firefox, I could claw back a number of my icons, but now things have stalled and there a quite a few holdouts that refuse to update. I'm also using Firefox on Windows without these issues. Would appreciate some hints as to how to further troubleshoot this.

I have been using Firefox ON this desktop since Feb. 13, 2019 But used Firefox way before that on other desktops. I just saved my profile from one to another and in 2019 I got a new computer again and I never have cleaned it up. I did searches on how too but nothing on how to get rid of passwords and user names logins on websites I no longer used except for one at a time, that will take me weeks, months to clean Firefox up, and how to clean up bookmarks the same, and so on. Today I saved a copy of my profile folder and was shocked to see it is almost 2GB. It explains why some days Firefox doesn't load properly, and why getting stuff done on here is more than a feature, it is bad chore I really need to tackle this and hope you guys can help me out on getting this mess cleaned up. Thanks for your time and support.
