Hi. I use firefox version 133.03 (64 bit) and have issues when on x.com's website. It will randomly open new tabs constantly. I have tried multiple options with settings on firefox and my pc, blocked new windows from opening, and disabled pop-ups. Checked my extensions and tried disabling all and that did not affect anything. I have run scans for viruses, malware, etc., and nothing comes up.

Any advice? It gets pretty annoying having to close the repeating tabs to be able to view the site.

I have Firefox version 133.0 installed on Windows 10. I frequently use the "Open link in new tab" option to open a new webpage from a link in a current webpage. After the latest update of Firefox this no longer works. The option appears in the (new) menu when I right click on a link, but nothing happens when I click on it. No new tab opens. Literally nothing happens. Have also tried "Open link in new window" and that also results in no action. What am I doing wrong ?

I would like to reiterate everything said below. This needs to be a standard feature. This seems like a no-brainer and should be a standard function on any browser. It only shows that Mozilla is getting left behind, even Edge has this feature, what makes it worse...IE had this feature and that is considered ancient tech now. from: kenmendell Now that I've got you and we're on the subject, Firefox seriously, MOST seriously, needs to bring back the "Bookmark All Tabs" command and have a "Save All Tabs" command of its own. There are no third-party apps and Add-Ons that do this very well anymore or at all, the older ones that used to do this no longer work well or at all. Firefox needs them in the browser to stay. It's never been the same without the "Bookmark All Tabs" command and trying to "Save All Tabs" the same way you would save a single page with "Save Page As" is frustratingly impossible to do. Any older Add-On or program that did this no longer works well or at all and hasn't for almost a decade or longer. It needs to be a standard function of any advanced browser. Firefox needs these functions as the normal standard. So, bring this up with your design team as an imperative because my having to migrate to these other lesser capable browsers the way others have doesn't appeal to me when Firefox should be a decade beyond their design and development, especially for functions that shouldn't be difficult hurdles for any modern browser to have.

Sometimes drag functionality stops working. I can't grab a tab to move it to another position or to a new window. (Holding left click on the tab and moving the cursor does nothing). Also, re-merging the tab with another firefox window stops working. (Dragging a tab to a firefox window from another firefox window doesn't merge them. It does nothing) I can right click on the tab and select Move to move it to a new window but dragging stops working. I have to close Firefox and start it again (sometimes twice), then dragging starts working again. This happens multiple times a day. I am on Linux Mint and the version is 126.0 (64-bit). This problematic behavior has only recently began.

Tabs Unexpectedly Opening in New Windows in Full-Screen Mode on MacOS

Hi firefox community,

I am using Firefox version 127.0.2 as my main browser on MacOS Sonoma 14.5. For the past few months, when using Firefox in Mac's full-screen mode, I've been experiencing an issue where one of the multiple open tabs unexpectedly displays in a separate window the moment I click on it.

This behavior didn't occur previously, and I believe it started happening about 3 months ago. It doesn't happen every time, but occurs a few times a day when I least expect it, making it difficult to identify the specific conditions that trigger it. I use a Magic Trackpad, and after switching to full-screen using the three-finger gesture, the moment I try to activate a specific tab, that tab alone displays as a separate window in full-screen mode.

Is it possible that a Firefox version update has changed this behavior? If this is a Firefox issue, is there a way to capture debug logs to have the developers investigate it?

Alternatively, if there's an option to prevent tabs from opening in new separate windows, that would be an effective workaround. Could you please let me know if such an option exists?

Best regards,

Since the last Firefox update, I've noticed an issue whenever I launch the browser. I have it set up so that I have multiple tabs open, and it's set up so that when Firefox starts up, it opens all of the previous tabs and starts me on the tab I was on when I closed the browser previously.

Now whenever I start Firefox, it opens to the last tab I was on, but said tab opens on my current homepage instead of the website that tab was on previously. I experimented by changing my homepage to "Youtube.com", picked a different open tab, closed Firefox and opened it again and sure enough, the tab was now on the Youtube page instead of what it had been previously.

Is this just a bug of the current Firefox version, or is there something in settings I can do to fix this?

Recently the V-like icon/button appeared at the right-hand end of the top line of my Firefox windows. This Tab Search could be invaluable to some, but I have no need for it. If I start to get too many tabs I just use another window. However, I click on it constantly when I intend to minimize the window. I have been clicking on the - icon/button in EVERY WINDOWS APPLICATION since Windows began, and as it has ALWAYS been the LEFT-MOST item in the UPPER RIGHT CORNER I haven't had to think about it in decades. But now it isn't the left-most, that is now tab search.

Please, please, PLEASE provide a configuration option to remove Tab Search from the top line.

Thanks!

I don't like the default homepage provided by Firefox, so I found an extension that can offer better tabs. But when I open Firefox, my homepage doesn't show the page provided by the extension. It's still Firefox's default homepage. Only when I open a new tab will the page provided by the extension appear. Also, the settings don't offer the option to replace Firefox's default homepage with the page provided by the extension. I need to replace the homepage from Firefox's default homepage to the tab provided by the extension.

After my Windows 10 laptop being in sleep mode I found my background picture changed and all my Firefox tabs missing (while my bookmarks, add-ons, history etc. saved, and all other apps functioning properly). Recently Closed Windows menu was inactive and using Restore option in Library had no effect (despite availability of recent saves).

I found out that Mozilla folder was just missing in %appdata% (e.g. Profile Folder in about:support leaded to a non-existent directory). No manual changes to Firefox settings/data were made and no new profiles created.

What might be the problem and are there any ways to restore my tabs?

Is there a way to open many pages quickly from history?

Whenever I'm in history and I open a page, the history window closes. In order to open another page from the history I need to go back to menu > history, search through history again, and go from there. I want to open like 5 tabs real quick, as I imagine it 5 quick middle clicks in the history window without the history window closing. Is there any preference for this or extension?
