when I get to any website with Mozilla a white box about 2" by 3" comes up with the above message in it. at times it also has a wesite address in the white box. The screen also is shaded grey over the top of the website I am trying to get to. the white box has an OK button. I can hit the ok button from 2 to as many as 20 times before the shaded screen goes away and the website is functional. Sometimes I must go thru this multiple times before I can browse the website.
This does this in Mozilla only, not if I use Internet Explorer.
I can be reached at xxx-xxx-xxxx (phone-number removed)

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
