My workflow in Firefox involves 100's of open tabs pertaining to work, personal etc. I regularly bookmark all the abs using the 'bookmark all tabs' feature in the Bookmarks drowdown (or the equivalent 'select all tabs' -> 'bookmark all tabs' by rightclicking on a tab) which offers the option of saving the tabs in a new folder name I specify. As of the last couple of weeks, the option to enter a folder name no longer exists. I've attached a screenshot of the current pop-up when I choose 'bookmark all tabs'.

Perhaps related: this may have started occuring after I upgraded to the latest version (v. 101.0 on MacOs 12.4 on Macbook Pro) or the timing may be a coincidence.

Saving the 100s of bookmarks every week is an essential part of workflow; I've been doiong it for years, and I really need to have this ability back. Please help me debug this.

Thanks!

Can you show what options you have after selecting all tabs and then right clicking on a tab? see screenshot Currently in openSUSE, but let me boot up my Mac to verify.

Thank you! I typically use 'bookmark all tabs' from the Bookmarks drop down, hence only one appears to be selected. However, attached are the options after all tabs are selected and the option after I choose 'bookmark tabs'. The first pic is identical to your first one. The second one is just a portion of your second one (which is what I expect to see) and doesn't offer the option of putting in a folder name or location.

Roger that... Interesting. With Firefox in Safe Mode, try the same steps to see what happens.

Gaargh, I didn't mean to hit 'solved', it was accidental! It isn't solved. Sorry about that.

(i) I get the same behavior in safe mode, also after 'refreshing firefox'. (ii) I tried a new profile, and it worked there as expected. However, that is a profile without my (years worth of) saved bookmarks so not sure what to do next with it. (iii) I ran 'troubleshooting mode' and saw no errors that were highlighted as such, though is parameter values were off I wouldn't know. Happy to share that readout if helpful! (iii) And one more diagnostic: I can select and save a few tabs (I tried 10, just as a random number) that works as expected. I get the option to enter a folder name and it gets saved.

My questions/thoughts based on the above: is there a limit to the number of tabs that can be saved this way that I've hit ? The thing is, this is a fairly static number for me, though high (~870) so it's still a new behavior.

Thanks on working on this!

Hi Ushma, This is the first time I've seen anyone bookmark 100s of tabs on a regular basis. You said that it's part of your workflow. Would you be able to provide more details about what that workflow is? Perhaps there's a better solution.
