hi, please describe the kind of error you're getting - no screenshot got submitted with your question unfortunately...
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
Hello,
In order to better assist you with your issue please provide us with a screenshot. If you need help to create a screenshot, please see How do I create a screenshot of my problem?
Once you've done this, attach the saved screenshot file to your forum post by clicking the Browse... button below the Post your reply box. This will help us to visualize the problem.
Thank you!
I am attaching the screenshot once again ....
This is about Real wanting to install an extension globally for all Firefox profiles. You should only see this page once.
This could be a problem with the extensions.json file or with the prefs.js file (about:config) and the value of extensions.xpiState.
It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.
New files will be created when required. a problem with See "Corrupt extension files":
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Unable+to+install+add-ons
If you see disabled or not compatible extensions in "Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left end of the Search bar to check if there is a compatibility update available.
If this didn't help then delete addons.json and possibly prefs.js in case there is a problem with the prefs.
You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
I can only see extensions.json in the folder please the screenshot and confirm if that is the only one to be deleted !
please delete the one file above as well, since windows explorer is hiding its .ini extension there by default...
you mean the extension.ini and extension.json both ?
yes exactly, please clear both of them.
Done and closed the folder and firefox ... now should i re enable to addons and restart it ?
Yes, you can delete these two files extensions.json and extensions.ini to force Firefox to create new files. It is usually best to delete compatibility.ini as well to force a refresh pf cached files.
If this didn't help then delete addons.json and possibly prefs.js in case there is a problem with preferences.
Okie deleting just extensions didnt work so i deleted everything like even the addons and prefs.js
now i will add the addons back again and see if that error still comes or not ..
thanks for the help guys !
Hello Guys,
After doing all that i still had to issue coming ... also to inform you even after deleting those files the addons was still there i just had to enable it .... i think clean installing the software and the addons might help ?
any more solutions ?
Restart Firefox. Does it still happen?
Yes it still happens :(
Can anyone tell me how to unistall the firefox and clean install it i mean remove all the files even addons and temp files etc etc ...
because everytime i re installed the firefox i could see the previously installed addons.
Firefox comes in two or more folders on all computers. They are;
Maintenance: (Programs Folder) <Windows Only> Firefox itself: (Programs Folder) And one folder in the profile of each user on the computer.
If you remove the Firefox folder, the user folders would not be affected.
Refresh Firefox {web link} is a LAST RESORT ! !
Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings
If you're having problems with Firefox, refreshing it can help. The refresh feature fixes many issues by restoring Firefox to its default state while saving your essential information like bookmarks, passwords, and open tabs.
