Firefox showing incorrect time compared to PC

Skcamero

Where I live recently changed to a new timezone and while windows is set to the correct timezone, firefox did not get the memo and timestamps on every website are now an hour behind. I do use a vpn but turning it off or changing locations does not change the timestamps. I have tried restarting the browser and already confirmed privacy.resistFingerprinting is set to false.

How can I change the time in firefox or force firefox to sync to my windows time?

Hmm, I'm assuming this isn't just the seasonal time change covered in the Windows Date & Time settings by

"Adjust for daylight savings time"

Instead, what happened was more like changing between, for example, Central time (-6) and Mountain time (-7)?

Firefox should understand your system time zone (time offset from GMT) setting. But I notice your Firefox reported itself as version 136, from March 2025. If your area's time zone change required an update to the code of Firefox in the past 20 months, your version might not have it.

If you want to test a newer version without affecting your existing installation, try the Firefox Developer Edition, which is based on on the beta test version of Firefox 160:

https://www.firefox.com/channel/desktop/developer/

That installs into its own folder. To avoid crossing over any settings, do not sign Firefox Developer Edition into your Mozilla Account.

Essentially yes, that's what happened. But it does seem the developer edition is working properly with timestamps, so it must be because it's outdated. I have some custom code in the chrome folder to alter some UI elements that I'm not sure if are compatible with the new UI, so I hadn't updated yet as it'll require some extra back up/testing. I'll see what I can do, thanks!

Yes, you can test in Developer Edition because Firefox 159 has most of the same UI changes.

If you are using well-known rule sets, there may be advice on r/FirefoxCSS about how to update or adapt them. https://www.reddit.com/r/FirefoxCSS/
