One site's single webpage not functioning after Firefox Desktop Update, why?
Updated Firefox browser for desktop on Mac to 158.0 on 10/15/26
On 10/14/26 using previous Firefox version 157.0 on Amazon.com Prime Video section, pages would load properly and videos could be played properly.
10/15/26 using updated version on Amazon.com Prime Video section, page would initially load properly only to later freeze. Videos could not be played. And freezing could not be corrected unless closing the tab on the browser.
10/15/26 using Safari browser on Amazon.com Prime video section, pages loaded properly and videos played properly.
Clearing cache and site data on updated version of Firefox did not have any effect. Pages continued to freeze and videos unplayable when starting over and navigating to the relevant pages.
Steps to reproduce:

expected results video selection appears and user can select and play videos
actual result video selection appear but freezes after a second or two,. videos cannot be played
Repro rate 5/5

See if you have "Remote Improvements" enabled: support.mozilla.org/questions/1611943
I had it disabled. If I enable, how soon will I get these improvements? Does it require a browser refresh? Or system reboot? Both?
It will pull the collections on a browser restart, and might take one extra restart then to apply the change, let me try to find the name of the rollout to fix… [BRB]
Gah, I don't see my profile getting enrolled in that, sorry — it's supposed to be called "Software H264 decode pref flip" — feel free to follow bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2081882#c3 instead to disable the preference yourself manually if that resolves that for now.
I enabled this 10 days ago. I restarted the browser many times since. Change has not taken place as it remains as reported and stalled. I went to the bug report and it was resolved even longer than that. Presently using Safari to get around this but unclear why my enabling this feature has not worked for this long thereby making me wonder if that is not functioning properly. And if I should just turn it off before something comes across I don't want.
Turns out it is rolled out under "Allow Firefox to run feature studies": support.mozilla.org/questions/1611943 — that eventually made it appear for me.
