Error: Platform version xxx is not compatible with xxxx
Hello, a recurring problem that's been bothering me for several months is driving me crazy, causing me to use Firefox less and less.
I regularly get the dreaded message "Error: Platform version xxx is not compatible with xxxx," which seems to have been around for years and still hasn't been fixed. Rebooting, reinstalling, or repairing the installation with every automatic update isn't a solution; it's just a nuisance.

Try a clean reinstall of Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems#w_4-reinstall-firefox

After investigate on this computer (just Windows Defender) I think I have an idea about the source of the problem.
This machine is managed remotely by a patch management solution (Datto RMM). The Datto agent runs as a SYSTEM service under Windows. If Firefox is launched during this update, then some files are locked and might not be processed correctly. I haven't encountered a similar case with other programs that might run and be updated in the same way. So it seems to be a Firefox-specific issue (I haven't checked Thunderbird).
