I have been using Thunerbird for many years. Lin fixed a problem with an f8 toggle issue last week but I had 2 downloads for thunderbird in my desktop I tried to open 1 of them and it said there was a file it could not open. I opened the other one and it asks for my password. I keep 2 notebooks with my passwords but I can't find one for thunderbird. I tried to do a restore in windows 11 but the restore point from weeks ago said it could not complete because of an open vpn or some other file. There are no earlier restore points because I had a new ssd and some memory upgrades. Is there a way to recover that password? Probably no problem if I opened it from the tray but I was working on a printer problem at the time and had the desktop open. Thank you

Hello, Thunderbird starts with "Authetication Failed" for my main account. After deleting the saved account/Password in Thunderbird it DOES NOT ask to enter a new one. It seems, Thunderbird hast still the Old informations saved, but it does NOT appear under Passwords / User Accounts in Thunderbird. How can I enter a new password in Thunderbird ? Has anybody a REGEDIT clue or any other help ? THANKS

I just purchased a new computer. I use thunderbird for email. After installing thunderbird I am unable to sign in because it will not accept my password. It keeps telling me to use a new password.

My daughter added email to my phone. Now I can not send any emails on my computer or phone! I still get my emails on Thunderbird but can't send any and have no idea what my password is or where it might be stored on my computer. It isn't saved on my Firefox. I do make annual contributions to Mozilla.Len@sawisch.com

Someone hacked my thunderbird account and I can't get to it. How can I find the password that is now associate with it? I was told the provider has to do that, but Spectrum can't do it. I tried independent software, but the password it recovered is an old one and it doesn't work. It doesn't show up in the list of saved passwords.

I have not been able to log in and operate my personal email on Earthlink.com for about the last 6 months using my MacBook Air. It refuses to accept my many valid attempts over the months to update the email password. To overcome this difficulty, I have updated all 140.12.1esr (aarch64) involved software, still to no benefit. My wife on her MacBook Air has been routinely checking my Earthlink email as she and I (on my MacBook) have been able to do with Thunderbird for over 20 years. I find this very frustrating and tiring.

  I hope some of you out there have a working solution for me.  It will really uplift my life !

I need a way to change my password in Thunderbird. I cannot sign in with the password I have used for several years, due to the fact that my hard disk had to be completely revamped, which also resulted in numerous files being erased. Apparently, this included my Thunderbird password. Unfortunately, the Thunderbird software does not (yet) make provisions for changing a password. I doubt that I am the only user who would welcome this possibility. I know for a fact that numerous other software programs find ways to enable a change of passwords.

I believe someone got a hold of my email please help recover my account. It keeps crashing in not backing up. Thanks to who it my concern I'm losing a lot of data.
