I've never had a problem before but suddenly I'm getting an error when I try to log into one of my accounts telling me "The STAT command did not succeed. Error getting message number and sizes. Mail server pop.gmail.com responded [AUTH] invalid credentials. Why is this happening now?

I have 4 other accounts on Thunderbird and this is the only one that has started giving me problems.

As above, is there any EASY way to edit the Subject line on a received email. These days, most accounts are via email, and currently if I receive a bill for payment, I have to add an XNote or something similar, to note that I have paid, which means that you then have to open that email, to see it... Would be SO much easier, if I could just add a note to the subject line. Realise that you can (laboriously) go through the actual mail files and edit/create a script to do this, but before I go through the process, was thinking there must be an easier way??

I am encountering a message of "The installation seems to be incomplete. Please check your hardware and disk setup and/or re-install." when trying to run Thunderbird.

This first occurred on a system that had been working for a while. An update may have been installed.

Here's what I've tried. -

Uninstall Thunderbird (along with Firefox and Mozilla Maintenance.) Checked for Program Files/Mozilla folder (all were removed). Run SFC / Scannow Run CHKDSK Installed pending Windows update. Restarted the System Renamed (essentially removed) Profiles folder Turned antivirus software off Downloaded and installed the latest version of Firefox, then Thunderbird. Launched Thunderbird. Still received the same error..

Any ideas on how to resolve the issue?

I usually browse my emails using saved search folders. Messages in these search folders are losing their tags. I tag the messages, and when I browse them later, the tags are gone. The same happens in regular folders and subfolders. If I browse the regular folders and tag messages while visualizing these folders, the same happens again. Any guesses?

Setting up Thunderbird for the first time so I can use Thunderbird as "aggregator" for all types of email (incl POP3) on both PC and android tablet. It is working for my Gmail account but not for my POP3 account with Roadrunner (aka Spectrum, aka Charter). The POP3 account is most important and I have 2 more addresses there that I also need to monitor. In the settings section for the roadrunner account there is a server test which seems to work but no email shows up in that account in Thunderbird. I am still getting new email directly in the Spectrum setup that I always use. Google AI thinks my setup should work. How should I proceed? Obviously contacting Spectrum is the easy answer but I thought maybe someone easier to contact would know a likely cause. Thanks

When i attempt to retrieve my email I get the following message at the top of my screen, "The certificate for POP3.pangia.biz expired of 8/13/26. How do I renew it? My email address is jahoagy@signalpeak.net. Thank you John Hoagland.

My e-mail stopped downloading. It was working fine, I changed nothing, no error message. It accepts my password, cycles through it's process, then quits without downloading anything. Sending still seems to work.

We did relocate from home to my folks' in-between, but I've never had issues at their place before, and otherwise my connection to their wireless works fine.

All folders for email are working correctly except Business messages. The server shows 23% full, but the messages are not downloading. I have checked all the connections, and the incoming and outgoing servers are accessible. There seems to be one connection which is not set for Business messages, but I cannot find a solution

I'm on TBird 153.0.2esr after a recent update. On previous versions the "Get Messages" button in the top left side of the menu's was working fine. When the button was selected, an update was displayed in the bottom left frame of the window. The update would say something like "Connecting to ..." and the message would be downloaded from the server. Great...

If there were no messages on the server, the update would display "There are no messages on the server". With this current version, I don't see any messages in the lower left frame of the window.

This is a convenient feature of the app, as I like to check the server for messages prior to shutting down. It's also convenient for getting messages with a security code without having to wait for the next scheduled message download. Now I can only assume there are no incoming messages when I push the button and don't see anything in my Inbox.

Dear Mozilla Development Team, Please reinstate this feature for upcoming versions of Thunderbird. Oh, BTW, this is a great app that I use daily for email. I use the calendar as a log book for my daily activities as well as an appointment scheduler. Thanks for your attention.

P.S. I see a new version is available (153.0.3esr) today (8/14/26), so I'll update and see if the same issue occurs.

All my read emails are showing on the top bar of my thunderbird. I have to scroll left past multipee tabs to get to my inbox. This just started recently and at the same time email replies started showing up under the original. can I turn these features off.

Ever since last 2 windows updates, thunderbird always asks for passwords and authorization for google calendar...this happens when you restart the computer and when you log out of thunderbird and log back in....this never happened before I uninstalled thunderbird and reinstalled it and it keeps happening is there a fix?

I utilize a program to scan business cards and need to add these contacts into my contact list in Thunderbird. I know how to add them if the VCF Card is received inside an email as an attachment, but I do not see any instructions on how to add it if it is found locally on my computer or received by text, etc. Thanks in advance, Ken

Hi, After recent Thunderbird update Shift + F5 nor Get new messages for all accounts IMAP doesn't work. I've synchronisation on. When I start Thunderbird it gets messages fine.

Installed Thunderbird Setup 153.0.3 and npw when running t-bird get a prompt asking abut a 'thundermail" address. Please advise.. What is "thundermail" and why is it in my way? I am a regular donor to T-bird sent several, emails addressing the "thundermail" weirdness and thus far no reply. .

Hi, I have two accounts in my Thunderbird. They are Gmail (regular gmail account) and CFCC (an institutional account). The CFCC shows up in my Unified Folder list but the Gmail does not. Is that normal? The main Inbox is showing all incoming emails from both accounts so no performance issues, just wondering how to get rid of the CFCC (if that's possible) to eliminate clutter.
