I have used Thunderbird for years, for two different work accounts and a personal account. I am retiring from one workplace, a small arts charity which runs occasional arts events for which I work from home using my own set up. My successor uses Outlook so I want to save relevant emails for them to be able to access previous correspondence if they need to. If I save relevant emails as .eml files into a folder in Dropbox, should my successor be able to open them in Outlook? If not, is there another solution apart from printing relevant emails to PDF and saving them? I am not a hugely techie user and generally find Thunderbird very straightforward! I was actively using Thunderbird in 2024-2025. Then I moved to Outlook. I had difficulty to move emails from Thunderbird to Outlook, so 2024-2025 emails remained in Thunderbird only. Last month my company did not extend Kylos domain subscription therefore Kylos will delete my emails from server soon. I'm afraid I will loose 2024-2025 emails then. Could you please advise / explain the solution not to loose my emails in Thunderbird. Server configuration IMAP. Emails moved from inbox and outbox to local folders, but for IMAP it may not be solution.

I have recently downloaded Thunderbird Mail, and the installation went smoothly, however, only half of the folders from Apple Mail have been imported. I have tried repeating the import, but without success. What could be the reason for this, and how do I transfer the rest of the folders? I have also tried saving the missing folders as mbox files, and then transferring - but without success.

I have a new windows laptop. I run thunderbird e-mail. I have about 13 e-mail accounts and numerous folders and a few address books and groups.

I need to transfer it entirely to the new laptop.

Where do I go on the old computer to copy files to a drive then go to new laptop and paste files to seamlessly accomplish this move?

I've been a longtime Thunderbird user on my desktop (laptop actually). I'm wanting to start using Thunderbird on my Android phone.

What I understand so far is that both the desktop and mobile have to have the same settings if I want to be able to send/receive (and have records) on both setups. I also understand that I need use IMAP settings.

In my situation, I believe I set up my desktop to be POP but to leave messages on server until I deleted.

So, my questions are these: Do I need to delete my POP accounts on my desktop first before adding the IMAP version of the account? If not, I can simply add the new account along side and then delete the old account. If I do need to delete the account, does deleting the account delete the emails as well? And how do I transfer any emails or sent emails from the POP to the IMAP?

In as much as I have several accounts to transfer, I want to make sure my step-by-step works well for one then I can proceed to all the rest.

I am trying to move emails from account "hasche@bigpond.net.au" to account hoedkaas@gmail.com. I was able to do this in a earlier version of Thunderbird. What has changed.

I have what should be a pretty simple question. 1. I deleted my Tbird POP acct because it stopped working. 2. I reinstalled it. 3. My saved mail folders were gone. 4. Is it possible to get them back? 5. * This question is for someone other than David. 6. I just want to get my old saved folders back into my reinstalled account. 7. It's been about five days since this all took place. 8.The version I deleted was a the previous release.

Changed my Email address and when I opened Thunderbird, my folders (35+) containing hundreds of Email disappeared. Need to find where they are hiding and reinstall. Thunderbird with new Email address is working correctly, except for the lost data.

TB will import but does not display either legible emails nor attachments. I suspect GM at is fault. The takeouts seem incomplete at Zip 11GB. There are 2407 emails in my simple GM account a few with always Adobe PDF legal document attachments. I am new to Thunderbird so that may be a contributor but it looks very straight forward. Perhaps I am a moronic 82? I represent 11,000 disabled Firefighters pro bono in UK and Ireland. Grateful for any help please...Paul

I am trying to change from Gmail to Yahoo.

I am using Thunderbird to migrate my Gmail account's emails to my new Yahoo account.

My Gmail account has thousands of messages, including numerous photos and other attachments.

My laptop doesn't have space for the app and everything necessary for the migration.

How can I use the Android app on my phone to accomplish this instead?

Mac's Tahoe 26.5.2 is the last OS that will run my SeaMonkey 2.53.23. Is there a version of this or Thunderbird that is compatible with Apple's new chips? My main concern here is email, and the folders in which I have stored years' worth of messages. If I have to use the latest Thunderbird instead that's okay, as long as there is a version of Firefox that is compatible as above -- but I would need the Thunderbird to be able to access my old SeaMonkey mail files. I have Thunderbird installed on a linux o/s running Zorin 18.1 the version of thunderbird is shown in uploaded images. I wish to export everything in my profile to a folder which Evolution can access when asked to import. I then intend to delete Thunderbird and carry on with Evolution as my email app of choice. I have an email address and I want to migrate those emails to a gmail address. The problem is that I have around 2300 emails. I'm copying about 200 emails to the gmail address. The problem is that is taking too long and it's not copying all of them.

What if I copy all of emails wait to sycronize it and then copy it again? It will work? Or is there another way to do that?

My computer crashed and I cannot retrieve my e-mail and I don't remember how to get to it. Had it for many years and just had an icon on the computer so I don't remember anything about it except Thunderbird. Good morning . . . I have recently switched from an old Windows 10 machine to a new macmini, and have switched my Office 365 account over to it. Simply stated, Outlook is not working, and I have no desire to continue with it. Will Thunderbird suit my needs? Will it allow me to import my old contacts and emails, both from my Windows machine and the new MacOutlook?

After Windows 11 crash and re-install and Thunderbird re-install, where can I find my old address file and old email file location in saved backed up data, and filename format to import in new Thunderbird installation? I have done this once a long time ago and forgot.

Hello Smart People:

I have literally decades of emails from a prior job that I want to detach from T-bird without deleting them. I hope to drastically reduce the size of "Local Folders" so I can more easily transport my email from machine to machine.

Archiving won't work in this case because it retains the mail, when I really want it removed, but accessible again later.

How can I do this?
