I want to play m3u8 link but they always download and save it. I try to find advance settings but it seems no settings for it. How can I stop download specific file extension? And if it can play, play it? Thank you.

Hello there.

Since last update i'm unable to browse websites like youtube, social media and all other websites with video content. Video often fails to load,the wholewebsite is not loading, freezes while played or while exiting full screen mode. All of these freezes the browser - the site cannot be refreshed, links does not work. The only way is to close the tab with the freezed page or kill the Firefox process in windows Task Manager. Refreshing, re-installing, deleting or using different profile don't work. Same with add-ons. Seems like the issue lies within the browser and it started to appear since last update.

two days ago, video embeds on Twitter stopped working in Firefox. Please help me troubleshoot the issue, so that I can either fix it myself, or present enough evidence to file a proper bug report.

Affected version: FF 140 ESR. I had some 140.7 installed when the error first happened, but have upgraded to firefox-esr_140.10.1esr-1_amd64 since. Didn't fix the problem. *Not* a snap package, regular .deb!

Affected OS: Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, not a fresh install but upgraded from 24.04 instead (which itself was upgraded from 22.04).

Symptoms: Videos on X (and Facebook) no longer play, the preview image is there for a split second, then an error appears. Video on for example Youtube is fine, though. Local players like VLC also do work as expected. Video on X worked under 26.04 before this happened.

The issue likely started when removing surplus packages and metapackages from the upgrade. On my journey of fixing this myself, I also asked the all-hallucinating knowledge randomizer frontend of OpenAI, which made me check a couple generic spots on my system and in FF itself.

I'm going to install the applicatioin because it hasn't been working for several monnths ( it doesn't work anymore ). For exemple , if I want to watch Netflix and the video starts playing , there's no picture, it just loops and the screen is black.

I've tried everything turning off the computer, closing Netflix, even Youtube . I'm at a loss.

Suddenly no audio when using Firefox. Only setting I can find says audio is allowed from all websites. There are no websites listed on that settings page. Audio works fine using other browsers. Any thoughts?

Unable to play a video on Hulu with my own Hulu account, which I have had no issues in the past doing, even with all my ad blockers and trackers enabled (Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin, AdBlocker Ultimate, Ghostery, and Malwarebytes). I have tried disabling all of the above extensions, refreshing the website and still no luck. My internet speed is fine, I checked it through 3 different internet speed testers to verify Also checked my Wifi signal through our Google Home portal. why do videos opened in new tabs have an audio delay before the sound comes on? this is a recent phenomenon. So, when I right click a video and click 'open in new tab' when the video starts the audio is delayed 2 to 3 seconds. normally there is no audio lag. this has been happening for perhaps two weeks now. is it related to a setting? I recently adjusted the security and privacy settings.

why is the icon even there or why does it have to disappear and then also change the tab size ?

1) if its there to enable you to play a tab in the background, then i want the option to switch the feature on or off (because i do not want to play anything in the background, atleast not via a 24/7 target practice with a mouse)

2) if its there to give you notice that there is a 'multimedia' tab open in your browser, then i want the icon to stay there and not dissapear plus change tab size...

like what is this even ? are we back in the 50s ?

My microphone does not work properly in Firefox, it sounds periodically really low and that doesnt depend on my mic settings. It seems like that is Automatic Gain Control or something like that and idk how to disable it. On screenshot im just speaking as usual but the browser lowers the volume -_-

Using Firefox on Windows 10 Pro & 11.

Beginning in v 150.0, when a media playback occurs, the audio volume in the player gets set to its maximum level. This is true for X.com media and for YouTube videos.

For YouTube it only happens for the first video played in a new tab; subsequent videos in the same tab 'remember' the volume setting from the prior video. In X.com, every media player invoked reverts to the maximum audio level.

In v 149.x and earlier, the media player maintained the audio level from its prior invocation.

Is there a way to have the media player 'remember' its previous audio setting when it gets invoked?

When I open Facebook in Firefox 150.0.1 with no extensions then move the cursor over a video, that video automatically plays.

Preferences | Privacy and Security | Browser Privacy | Permissions | Autoplay | Default is set to Block Audio and Video yet videos still automatically play.
