After changing from windows 10 to Chromebox, I thought I was ready to have Firefox just as it was. I had an account recovery key and expected no problems. When downloading Firefox I wasn't asked for the recovery key only my password. The Firefox page is almost unusable. Please help me to regain what I had before.

Hi,

In the last two weeks, I cannot access Outlook live via Mozilla (it is fine on Chrome on the same pc, although I prefer not using that) - it comes up with a 403 error. Also, but for slightly longer (maybe 3 months), I cannot access Canva on Firefox, as it comes up with a 'This browser is unsupported, download the desktop client. You are using an old version or a browser that we do not support. To continue using Canva, please download the desktop client. Download for Windows 10 or later' page.

The only way I can access Outlook and briefly access Canva (apart from using Chrome) is to clear all history - cookies, cache, browsing etc. If it were a matter of doing this once, it would be a ball-ache (who wants to type in their user name and password repeatedly to every single website you use habitually?), but I could deal with it. But it is every time I close my pc down and reboot.

I am not uber techy, so please be kind and provide super easy steps an idiot could follow. Many thanks

PS am on a desktop PC running windows 11 Pro vers 24H2.

After restarting the browser, open tabs are not saved even though this option is enabled in the settings. Could you fix this? I’d also like videos to automatically switch to picture-in-picture mode when changing to another tab, without having to press a button for it.

Hello!

My 1Password Extension now requires me to click the 1Password icon at the far right of the Firefox nav bar. This, rather than simply autofilling the field(s) in question. In other words, it no longer "calls" 1Password and picks the correct, corresponding record in 1P, asking to confirm the autofill.

This is a new behavior that seems to coincide with a recent Firefox update and/or update to MACOS 26, but I can't be sure.

I absolutely detest this new 'functionality'.

Could this bee (: something wrong and not intentional?

My 1Password Extension now requires me to click the 1Password icon at the far right of the Firefox nav bar. This, rather than simply autofilling the field(s) in question. In Firefox, when I click the three horizontal lines in the upper-right corner of the page, and click on "History", no sites are shown.

Mozilla Firefox freezes for 5 to 6 seconds when downloading / saving files or changing the default "Save to" location.

Other programs (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, Chrome) don't suffer from the same issue.

  • I have mapped drives from my NAS on the same network.
  • "Automatic Destinations" folder has been cleared
  • Looking at the performance stats in Task Manager, CPU and memory usage values are normal.
  • Antivirus / firewall software disabled to no affect

So I deleted my old mozilla account since I abandoned the email that it was linked to, but when I tried to sync with my new account I get this. Is there anyway to do this without having to make a new profile?

I tried making a new profile and copy and pasting my profile into the new one, but still get the same pop up. I guess there's something in my profile that says it's been synced before, is there anyway I can find that and delete it or change it?

I am very happy with pinning websites to the taskbar. It is very practical to have your mailbox on a solo tab on your taskbar. (picture 1)

However, I discovered that adding the outlook.live.com website to the taskbar does not work properly. The icon (picture 2 and 3) is not shown, unlike the Proton and Gmail icon.

Also the Windows message does not show: "Apps" 'Do you want to add ... to the taskbar?' 'Yes' 'No, thanks'. (picture 4)
