Today when I opened firefox I was greeted with a chat gpt bot on the left side of my screen. I don't want chat gpt any where near my computer. Please tell me how to remove that part of firefox from my pc.

The fucking forced dark mode has return despite the previous fix layout.css.prefers-color-scheme.content-override = 1 in about:config fixing it for years. This and the current replacement fixes don't save. I want a solution for PERMANENT light mode (black text on white background) for ALL menus, pop-ups, dropdown menus and hover over tab info.

And don't tell me to go search for a different theme I've already spent hours doing that and firefox has broken them only making some menus use the appropriate mode. On top of that I can't even pick an option to search for one that uses light mode I just have to go through each one and try it if I want to know which mode it uses that is NOT a solution to anything.

Replacement "fixes" for reference: ui.systemUsesDarkTheme won't even let me set to 0 only has true/false browser.theme.content-theme set to 1 browser.theme.toolbar-theme set to 1 (Why in the absolute hell these were added when a simple addition to preference setting wasn't is beyond me)

Very sorry for the aggressiveness but I am so very VERY tired of having to fight firefox on this preferance for years when their dark mode hurts my eyes.

I know it may sound a bit strange, but I would like to know WHY an extension is not allowed in a private window, so I might understand the reason why I'm not able to diagnose an issue I'm having with fucking amazon who has their cart all over the place for a misconfiguration in firefox that either I did or an extension is causing, however I'm unable to figure out which because I can't enable extensions in private windows, where the issue does not happen, so I'm not able to reproduce and isolate the problem. Specifically, this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/extensions-private-browsing Plus, I was kinda expecting I could run STG in private too, since it offer such nice and rich grouping and memory management features vanilla FF does not (PS: please take inspiration and bake it inside!!)  An update or two (maybe more?) ago, the plus sign with which we add shortcuts to the Firefox browser home page/new tab page disappeared, so now we can no longer add shortcuts on the home page/new tab page.  Please help.  I am running Firefox Version 129.0.2 (64-bit) on a Windows 11 Pro 64-bit if that makes any difference.  Thanks.

Yesterday, I get a screen popup that says" Outlook(formerly Hotmail)" Saying Hotmail will now be Outlook.

I've had Hotmail for maybe 30+ years now? I've always had Firefox open to my inbox, which is Outlook and has been for a year or better.

Since yesterday it will not open up to my inbox. It opens to the MS website showing what I wrote up above and a picture of Outlook.

I've deleted cookies and cache. Also history. Even though I point it to my inbox it just goes to that advertisement. I have the stay signed in box checked and don't show this again. But it does show again and again. I hope there's a way to fix this, pretty sure it not a Firefox issue. Just hoping someone else has had and and found a way around it.

I have installed the LastPass extension for Firefox, more than once, but the LastPass icon does not appear in my browser bar. It used to be there, but disappeared a few weeks ago. I have tried to reinstall the extension, but it has had no effect.

bold textdownloading only produces " .part " files in my downloads directory. I had previously attempted a large file download but error message said it was not completed. Now cannot download anything

Hi, I love the new, little weather app/temperature icon in the upper left of the Firefox home page. HOWEVER, I really want to change it to a city closer to me. I looked up how to do it, but the directions seem WRONG. I cannot hover and find any way to change locations. Is it because I'm on a Mac? or ?

Can you help me? I'm using an iMac computer... everything works, it's updated, what could be wrong?

I already turned pff the graphic tab preview, but the tab title still pops up when I move my mpuse pointer on a tab. I do not need this and find it terribly annoying. How do I completely deactive this?

Regular download works fine, but when I try to download attachment in outlook.live.com website, it didn't ask me where to store it, but simply places it in my default location, while at the same time opening the attachment even though I only want to download the file.

Approximately 2 years back, for a short period of time, FireFox let you choose an audio output device in video conferencing web apps, through the web app directly.

This seems to be gone now, but I'd like to turn the feature back on.

It's very problematic to have to change your default audio device for video calls, as your computers sound effects and whatnot will also play in your headset as well, where as before, all you got was the audio from the video call in your headset.

Is there a way to turn this on again? Owl Practice (one of the VC web apps I use) still shows the different output devices, but regardless of which one you pick, it always comes out the default device. For a while this feature actually worked, but now it doesn't.

Is there a setting I can change? Maybe in about:config?
