I check a bunch of checkboxes for emails in my inbox. But then a lot of times, those checks will disappear. Why? How do I fix that?
Subject says it all. I installed Thunderbird maybe a month ago, because the web version of Yahoo email changed their interface, again, one too many times for me. I love the customizability of Thunderbird!!
If only I could get a handle on the odd checkbox behavior though ... :-)

Your IMAP server updates the list and it is refreshed. That is one of the reasons those check boxes are hidden away as accessibility items. they are more trouble that they are worth. They offer no additional functionality to the program with a number of rather unexpected outcomes associated with them.
They do offer additional functionality: if I want to delete a bunch of emails at once. :-) There should be some way to program maintaining those checks from before to after a server update. But I guess it hasn't been a priority.
