How to stop Thunderbird from Automatic Get of Email when starting Thunderbird
I have Thunderbird 146.0.1, using 6 email accounts with POP. Two questions:
1) Whenever I start Thunderbird, it retrieves only a subset of the email accounts which I have defined to Thunderbird. Some accounts retrieve ALL, and other accounts retrieve NONE. I also have the extension "Get All Mail" and when I click that it retrieves ALL the email, including the email that the Thunderbird base program didn't retrieve. How can I get Thunderbird to get ALL the email?
or alternatively...
2) Can I somehow disable the Automatic Retrieval of Email when I start Thunderbird? ... and rely solely on the "Get All Email" extension.

I am a bit confused. In the 'server settings' pane for an account, you can specify whether to get mail at startup. And there is an icon on the main screen to get all messages. So, I do not understand the problem. Do those settings not work? Thank you. Maybe we just need more information.

Thanks david,
In the Thunderbird "server settings" for "Get mail at startup", I had some checked and others not checked. So, per your email, I unchecked all, and now to get the mail, all I have to do is click the extension "Get All Email." That's what I was looking for. Thanks.
