Change Firefox back to asking for password instead of windows credentials.
When I want to view passwords Firefox is asking windows credentials which I don't have. Now I can't get access. It used to ask for my Firefox password what happened.

I thought I had tried my pin. Apparently I hadn't or made a mistake when I entered it because that worked.

This is actually expected behavior now — Firefox uses your Windows account credentials to protect saved passwords instead of a separate Firefox password. If you don’t have those credentials, that’s why you’re locked out.
Firefox stored my passwords and is now not letting me access them? I guess my option is to delete my Firefox account and use a different browser and start storing my own passwords again.
alglamont, you might be able to stop Firefox asking for your Windows sign in by unchecking the setting "Require device sign in to fill and manage passwords".
See this article for more information, especially the section "Enable or disable password authentication": https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-password-authentification-prompt
On another note, you say that you don't have your Windows credentials, but unless if you never reboot or turn your computer off then presumably you must be entering something at Windows start-up? Such as a PIN or full password, or fingerprint?
For example, if you normally log in to your computer with a PIN, have you tried entering that into this new Firefox dialogue box, even if you have to click 'more choices' to find a suitable place?
