Opening PDF attachments when in Write Screen

I get this error message when trying to open a pdf when I am in the write screen. I like to look at the attachment before sending it and I get this message. The preference in settings is to use Adobe to open PDF files. It opens them fine when you are opening them from a received message. This error only happens when trying to look at an outgoing message attachment. Any suggestions to fix this error.

The error is known and people are looking into it. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1729922

The bug mentioned above has been marked as a duplicate of this bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1698140

So whilst there seems to be a difference is results, the issue is the same problem.
