What OS are you using?
What version of Thunderbird are you using ?
What theme are you using dark or light or any other?
What setting do you have here:
- If Windows OS : Menu app icon > Options > Options > Display > 'Formatting' tab
- If MAC OS: Thunderbird > Preferences > Display > 'Formatting' tab
- click on 'Colours...' button.
