move desktop tbird mail to tbird app w7 tbird 6.06
hi i have been using t.bird for years and have saved a few hundred legal emails that are important .. as i collected them i moved them into folders on my desktop .. now i have to sort them and the only way i can .. sort sift search and find duplicates is in the tbird program .. so i am trying to import the mail and attachments and folders back
i have used importexporttools with minimal success .. i tried to send myself copies via the net .. but that is over 500 emails ..

If you have a folder on desktop that contains a load of .eml files, did you do the following?
- Create a new folder with suitable name in 'Local Folders' mail account to receive those emails.
- Right click on that new folder and select: 'ImportExportTools' > 'Import messages'
A window opens.
- Locate and select the folder on desktop, so you can see the contents showing all the .eml files.
- Select/highlight the .eml files.
- Click on 'Open'
This should import all the highlighted .eml files into the new folder in 'Local Folders' mail account.

saved then on your desktop in what file format. That is very important.

Thunderbird Document (.eml) i did a drag and drop into a folder ... .. a lot of pdf (opens with opera )
