NOT USING PROFILE METHOD, I want to move (export?) many email account SUB FOLDERS to another Thunderbird installation.

I have 1000's of emails in many dozen subfolders in four email accounts. I 'need' to move SELECTED sub folders to another system/Thunderbird installation. I am guessing that this is pretty much impossible with the Mozilla 'profiles' design?
