I can't receive any more messages, beacuse a "trash" bin is full, but both on the page are empty!?!

It is obvious, that some (to me unknown) trash bin is full of trash and the system doesn't allow me to delite any more messages. So the Inbox is clogged and allows no more messages to be received. The two (Trash) bins on TB page (Inbox Trash and Local Files Trash) empty and so is the Trash bin of my computer. ?!?
