When I install Firefox 28, why does it not load?
Any idea on this? This is annoying.

Hello, please try a clean re-install of Firefox
you can download Firefox from here
Can we have some more information on this issue please. Do you mean you are having trouble installing Firefox, or do you mean that nothing happens when you try to open Firefox, or do you mean you can't access any Internet content?
Nothing seems to happen when I tried to open it after installing.
If you're using windows, press ctrl + alt + del and try accessing the task manager. Once there, switch over to processes and see if there's a firefox process. If it does, wait for some time. Else, go to file on the top-left -> run new task -> browse to your firefox installed directory, select and press ok
I tried it now, and it still doesn't work.

It doesn't answer my question. It's only Firefox 28 that does not load.

Have you tried opening Firefox in Safe Mode? It's likely that one of your extensions is playing a role in this seeing as you have quite a few installed.
- Hold the SHIFT key while double clicking the Firefox shortuct on your desktop.
If Firefox opens, then it is one of your extensions.
- Disable them one by one to see which one is causing the problem.
No, I have not. Which extension should I disable?

Actually it seems that Shop to Win 36 is in your Extensions list. That's not a typical Firefox extension. Try to uninstall that and see if Firefox starts up. You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software and will track down any traces of Shop to Win after it's been uninstalled from Firefox.
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.
you should also see if you can uninstall Shop to Win from your Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. You're using Vista so that should be in Start > Control Panel > Click Classic View to the left and click Programs and Features or something similar.
Note that you are running Firefox 13.0.1 which was released to the general public on June 15, 2012. You should really upgrade to Firefox 28 since that version is severely outdated and Firefox 28 fixes the bugs that are in previous releases. You can see the Known Issues with version 13 below:
You can download the latest Firefox below

The scanner I use is Norton Security Suite.
Also, I did remove that Shop to Win 36 extension. Now when I try to install Firefox 28, it closes when it's in the middle of checking some Add-ons.
Any idea on why it does that?
nearly all of the links people have offered here on this forum give me pretty much the same error msg: There is a problem with this website’s security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority. """" One person says to try downloading & installing an older version than 28; others say "DON'T use an older version. So far none of the suggestions have been any help. Does that mean I have to give up on Mozilla FF and start using Google Chrome ? I already decided I don't want to have Internet Explorer as my home browser !

What problem are you having? Can I get a better explanation?
ok trying to start a new question. Hope I am in the right place... I was able to download and install an older version - Moz FF 26; however, with practically each keystroke I get these 2 error msgs: " [JavaScript Application] ! initXPCOM TypeError: compClass is underfined" AND ""onLoad TypeError: can't access dead object"
