I have exactly the same problem on BOTH of my PC's; Impossible to load from bookmarks or even by a manual typinf any web site. I wiped the origional Firefox and re-booted without loosing all my bookmarks- same problem!
HHHHHHHHEEEEEEELLLLLPPPPP!!!!!!!
After upgrading to 3.6.11 I can not access web sites requiring secure log-on. e.g. My.Yahoo and my financial accounts. Get "Can't connect securely because the SSL protocol has been disabled." Tried all the SSL trouble shooting tips including a fresh install ... no change. Switching to IE for now which works fine. Also tried using Seamonkey and no issues there as well.
How can we alert other users to avoid the upgrade?

Happened to a couple of my computers also....after a week of frustration, turns out to be an easy fix. Open Firefox, click tools, advanced, network, settings and make sure "no proxy" is checked. Works perfect!
Do you use McAfee Antivirus/Firewall/Security products? McAfee released a security update that is blocking Firefox 3.6.11. This should be cleared up with the next McAfee update.
