Every site, including this one, tells me I am using Firefox 2, but I am using Firefox 3.6.8 according to the Help button.

Running Windows XP SP 3, Every site, including this one, tells me I am using Firefox 2, but I am using Firefox 3.6.8 according to the Help button. I have re-installed and restarted several times to no effect.

Check the general.useragent prefs on the about:config page. You can open the about:config page via the location bar, just like you open a website. Filter: general.useragent If any general.useragent prefs are bold (user set) then right-click that pref and choose Reset.
