On ebay, auction photos appear then disappear. Photos display fine in Safari.
When I display an ebay page, the photo for that auction appears for a second or less, then the image disappears and is replaced by a message that says "please wait". Beneath this message is a circle of dots which change from light to dark, giving the impression that they are going in a circle. I presume this circle is implying it is loading the image.
This happened
Every time Firefox opened
== Not sure. Has been a problem for months.

Ok, found the fix! If images such as google maps don't load (or won't zoom in and out): In Mozilla Suite/SeaMonkey, go to your advanced JavaScript settings and make sure "Change Images" is enabled. This option was removed in Firefox 1.5 [4] so you'll need to type about:config in the address bar and check the list to verify that the related preference dom.disable_image_src_set is set to "false". If it isn't, context-click (right-click) the preference name and select "reset", or double-click to toggle.

Hello Lance.
You may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Restarted with all add on extensions disabled. Still have problem.
What is strange is that it displays the correct photo for the auction but then it disappears and gives the impression it is loading it.
Also have tried turning off AD BLOCKING. Still had problem.
google maps appear and disappear, and in many websites photos appear and disappear within seconds. All function fine in Safari.
same thing.
I've also had this same problem going on for months. All java generated images fail to load. I will try reinstalling java and post the results. Firefox 3.5.9 WinXP SP2
Reinstalled java but did not fix it. Any help or suggestions on a fix would be appreciated greatly.

THANK YOU!!!!!!! (YES i AM SHOUTING!)
I have put up with numerous sites where maps do not display for years (Mapquest, etc). This includes the item image in eBay.
Making this simple change corrected the problem.
Why is this set as true when it should be false as the default?
Hopefully this does not reset to true with every upgrade of FF.
