How to fix my unique rendering issue with TB60?
I just reinstalled my Windows10 1803 and wanted to reinstall Thunderbird and strange things are happening. TB60 is not rendering correctly, like, at all. The title bar is not rendering at all, at start it's only rendering like half of the actual window, and if I hover my mouse into it parts randomly start disappearing until the entire window is gone. If I mange to click something however, it stays focused.
I already tried reinstalling multiple times, and I also tried deleting the Thunderbird folder in Roaming and Local. Version52 works, but I'd like to keep working with 60. I'd appreciate any help I can get for that.
I have now tried multiple times to fill this form and upload pictures, but the upload never finishes. The images aren't big. I cannot really screenshot the worst case scenario, because you'd literally see nothing, I can only upload a video if that's of any help. For reference I attached the reddit thread which contains the pictures, as I cannot seem to attach them to this question.

usually rendering issues can be fixed by changing the setting for use hardware acceleration
Options > Advanced general.
Those settings are driver version specific and having worked for years can change overnight with a driver update.
However I do not see rendering issues. I see a bad interaction with the chosen Windows theme and an absence of the folders in the folder pane.

I do not have any Windows theme going on at the moment that could break it. I was literally as stock to Windows 10 as you could be.
I'm not sure how you don't see rendering issues. The entire titlebar is not rendering (I cannot close the thing) and when I hover over it, first parts of the window disappear, and then the entire window disappears. I'm not sure what to take a screenshot of there, since nothing remains except one line that would be hard to tell that's supposed to be TB, only a video would show what I'm experiencing.
I have tested the hardware acceleration now (sorry, should have done so prior to my previous post) and it seems to fix the issue to a degree, but I have very buggy borders (probably around 5px) around the window that are very annoying. The reaction time also seems rather sluggish, especially on resizing.
Is there any way around using TB60 without hardware acceleration again, or am I doomed to use TB52?
I think I also have a userchrome.css in there and maybe one or two theme addons, *but*(!) I have also tried it with a completely clean state as I said, and that didn't change anything. That's also shown in the Reddit screenshots.

I uploaded a video of what I'm seeing, if that's not a rendering issue, then I don't know. At around 0:04 or 0:05 you see it opening, and the way I'm opening menus is with the alt and arrow buttons.
Ok you win :) that is very much bad rendering.
The userchrome.CSS file. move it out of your profile and try a restart of Thunderbird. There have been some changes to the chrome in this release, so existing userchrome.css "might" need to be modified.
Most notable on the theme front is that there is now a default dark theme, not that I have tried it out. But you might also want to try the default theme, the way add-ons were affected by TB60 also applies to themes
I've tried with clean folders before as I mentioned, but I just tried it again, by just moving out the userchrome. As expected, to no avail.
