task manager keeps saying i have multiple firefox tabs open but
hi all !
task manager keeps saying i have multiple firefox tabs open but i only have one open. I also tried doing this https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1193404 (disable e10s/multiprocess) but nothing changed. is this normal ? I mean should I be worried? it is using quite of my RAM so im just a bit worried that I might have downloaded something from the net that is causing this. im using windows 10 btw.
also i'd like to apologize for my bad English.

Separate Security Issue, please update your Flash 28.0 r0 Flash Player Version: 30.0.0.113 Current Version https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>
Hi, is there a reason you turned those off in the 1st place ? The amount of ram being used is ok, less than mine.
Firefox uses containers for running, Flash, Video and Audio in the Sandbox your Extensions run some and extensions use give or take 20megs each. If you have lots of ram is nothing to be worried about. If have little it is.
To be Checked and turned off unless needed for accessibility : Please : go to the Firefox 3 Bar Menu --> Options --> Privacy & Security panel and under Permissions check (put a tick in the box) the setting to Prevent Accessibility Services from accessing your browser.
Multi-Processor Support : Go to the 3 Bar Menu then Options --> General --> Performance and untick everything. change the recommended size lower then see how it runs. Note: 1 = No Multiprocessor = slow again. Try 2 Restart Firefox after making these changes please. Note : Hardware Acceleration is for Video Card, Monitor to see if remain off or to turn back on.
Only Disable as last resort.
Multi-processor Can completely disable it this way in about:config : dom.ipc.processCount set to 1 browser.tabs.remote.autostart = false browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 = false
Only move to esr if low ram and old system.
Firefox Extended Release Version : Firefox ESR does not come with the latest features but it has the latest security and stability fixes.

hi Pkshadow. i have turned this off because when i googled my problem (i used the title of this topic on google) it showed me the link from mozilla support about disable e10s/multiprocess. before i turned it off i also i read some topic starter that are having same issue as mine where only one tab is open but it is showing 2 or more tabs opened on task manager. so i thought we are having the same problem.
im not really a techie. so are you saying this is normal ? I just don't remember seeing that on my task manager before.
oh by the way i have 8gb or RAM
Yes it is more than normal. If is running under 2gigs your fine. You can adjust as mentioned and lower the processors.
Check the top one please and if no tick put a check mark in the box.
Also reverse what you did as you missed 2 others that need to be changed to complete the disable.

thanks Pkshadow. will do that now.
