I'm coming over from chrome but there are a few quirks that Firefox makes it very difficult for transition. I used Chrome's startup tabs when I open Chrome to have around 20 tabs of my daily sites. In chrome, if I open a new window (pop out), it will simply open a new window without all the startup tabs.

However, in FF if I CRTL-N it will open ALL of the startup tabs again. How can i stop this?

If you open a new window then Firefox opens all the home pages and you appear to have set multiple home page if I understand correctly. You would have to set the home page to a single page or use about:blank to get a clean new window.

A possible workaround in this case is to create a bookmark on the Bookmarks Toolbar with the location set to about:blank and left-click this bookmark while you hold the Shift key to open a new window (Shift + left-click is the standard way to open a link in a new window).
