New Tab without changing focus

I am building a standalone firefox browser that will only surf single site. I need the ability to open a tab in a new tab and programmatically control which table will have focus. At times it be the new tab (default beahviour) and at times the focus wont change to the new tab. I have full control on the firefox so any solution will be much appeciated
