after downloading firefox i cannot find it on the desktop

If you downloaded the Firefox installer, you need to run it on your computer to install Firefox on your computer before you can use it.

If you have already run the installer, it might not have created a shortcut to Firefox on your desktop. Try typing Firefox in the Search box on the Start menu/screen and see if anything comes up.
