I just changed some things / the stupid map that became my home page: I need desparately all of my bookmarks resotred, please do this for me now???

I went to use mapquest yesterday and some map thing took over my home page. I wanted firefox to stay my home page and i did not choose the stupid map thing. So, somehow I messed around enough and i go the map thing to go away . And somehow tonight, in the past two hours, I lost ALL of my many bookmarks. I AM NOT a computer nerd and this stuff is very difficult for me. 

I am 68 years and I need help!! Please can I ask someone to restore those bookmarks. I have very important business classes and contacts in those bookmarks; and I have lots of personal sites in there.

How do I get my bookmarks back?? Can I pay someone to do this, or what? Thanks, Iris Newman irisnewman@comcast.net

Hi, firstly, if you need to uninstall Mapquest, open the PC's Start Menu > Control Panel > Programs, and you should be able to uninstall it from there.

To reset your home page etc., to default, you can use the SearchReset tool.

If you have lost your bookmarks bar, right click in the tab bar - but not on a tab, and tick/check Bookmarks Toolbar.

If you have lost the bookmarks button, open the 3-bar menu > Customize, and if you can see the bookmarks button, simply drag it to a toolbar and the location of your choice, then Exit Customize. If the button isn't there, click on Restore Defaults.

If there are simply no bookmarks but the button is there, open bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import and Backup > Restore, and see if you have a backup there.
