Yahoo Email is showing old emails at the very top when sorting by date. Old emails display the time, not date of email recieved.
Hi folks, hope you can maybe help me out here,
I recently started trying Thunderbird and decided to use my Yahoo account to go with the client. I was able to successfully add my account, but by trying to sort the emails by date, I notice A LOT of my old emails show up at the very top of the list. The issue - older emails simply have a time, but do not display the date that they were sent.
Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Is this an issue with just how Yahoo email works? I've tried repairing the folder, but it doesn't seem to work.
Thanks!

Select one of those older emails with only a time - no date; so you can see it in Message pane. click on 'Other Actions' and select 'view Source'.
There will be a load of headers. you will see a section with headers: FROM, TO, Subject, Date. what is written in the 'Date' part? eg: Date: Tue, 17 Mar 2015 13:46:56
If there is no date, only a time, then this would explain why no Date has been set.
Are you viewing the Date using 'Date' or 'Received' or 'Order Received' column headers? Do you notice a difference between these column headers when sorting?
There is an addon tool for modifying headers.
I suggest you view the source of a correctly Dated email, so you know the format.
In one of the badly dated emails source, it is possible the correct date is mentioned elsewhere in another header.
Thanks. I did check the header and it shows an older date. I will try the add on you suggested.
