Normally when I wrote an email, in the first or second letter I wrote, Thunderbird gave me options of emails with those characters. But suddenly it stooped doing that, how can I reestablish that option? Thanks

Keep typing. It now searches for strings within addresses, rather than just at the beginnings of words. It has changed from a "starts with" to a "contains" method.

Unless someone changes this, I think the only way to restore the old behaviour would be to download TB V24.6 from here:
