To open Thunderbird I must enter a primary password. This is driving me NUTS. When I open the program, I want it to start without having to remember a password. Also, if something happened to me, nobody else in my family could open the program without knowing the password and how to find it if needed. After many decades of using this program for email, this primary password nonsense has become a great annoyance. FIX THIS STUPID PASSWORD PROBLEM. Please.

3 дня назад перестали приходить письма - вышла ошибка авторизации. Пароль точно верный (через браузер все работает) и работает Thunderbird на другом ПК. Снес мозиллу, касперского, пробую заново создать почту, не дает, смотрите скриншот 1. Потов выдает ошибку смотрите скриншот 2. Вообще не могу понять что не так! На другом ПК все работает. переносил профиль с другого ПК на свой все тоже самое - ошибка авторизации. Куки разрешены, в исключения gmail.com добавил в Thunderbird Куда копать, что искать?

Using Thunderbird forever, on my PC and also on my Android. On my PC sending messages stopped working "suddenly". (That means I did not change anything in Thunderbird. Windows related settings - who knows.)

I have checked the SMTP server settings again, but it didn't solve the problem. I have changed my password of my e-mail account to anew one, reinstalled Thunderbird and recreated my account, but without anything changing. Receiving works, sending does not. Tried to install Outlook (sorry, just temporarily, I hope :) ) and there everything works just fine.

Maybe some Windows Firewall setting? Didn't find anything that seems to prevent Thunderbird from sending thou. Do you have any idea?

I wish to move away from MS outlook. I have installed Thunderbird desktop email client to my Imac apple desk top computer. When I run the installation software and input my gmail account details the system responds with an error "Authentication error". can you please help me to reconfigure the set up to resolve this problem. Since April 9, 6:14 PM CDT, most folders (e.g., Drafts, Templates, Sent) on my primary laptop in my primary POP email account, [edited]@bdcusa.com, have disappeared; and ALL SUBfolders in my Inbox have disappeared. Over 185,000 emails have vanished overnight!

On my primary laptop, I'm using Thunderbird 149.0.1 (64-bit) on the release update channel, still running 64-bit Windows 10 Professional, and have nothing backed up to the cloud.

Fortunately, on my secondary laptop, I'm using Thunderbird 115.18.0 (32-bit) on the esr update channel, running 32-bit Windows 7 Professional. I say, "fortunately," because ALL folders and emails are still there, so I know they haven't been vaporized!

How do I return all folders and emails for this email account to visibility and access on my primary laptop? Detailed directions appreciated.

A few weeks ago, my Thunderbird went very, very slow. It has from time to time crashed. Now this happens whenever I start a new email. If I downloaded Firefox, would that help?

So I have Thunderbird set to autosave every 5 mins.

I was drafting an email, where I had written quite a lot of text (as a reply) and for some reason my text went missing and there was no undo in edits

So I quit and went to drafts, nothing there.

I checked and autosave is on for 5 mins.

hit reply again. typed in some text, set a timer for 12 mins, quit.

Again, no save.

So why is "Auto Save ever " x mins not working?

I have tried using both a zip and unzip folders along with a backup folder for moving an export of the calendar. I export file is larger than 2GB and i find no way to make it smaller. or i can not find a way to export a pure csv file. All the above fails on import. please advise

Hello, I use Thunderbird 140.10.0esr, installed as Flathub flatpak on Fedora Linux Kinoite. I just found out I have a folder in /home/<user>/.var/app/org.mozilla.Thunderbird/.thunderbird/1tniiwpw.default-release-1/storage/default/ called https+++www.googletagmanager.com. I wonder why I have this and what it does in the Thunderbird settings. It has something to do with Google's LLC, but I don't want to be part of that. I removed the folder completely and hope it won't come back, but I wonder. Who can tell me something more about this folder? Thanks.

I had a gmail email in my Thunderbird, during setup I had to get permission from gmail to connect using google api. All was good. I have since deleted the account from Thunderbird, restarted app and pc many many times and yet no matter what i do , thunderbird continuously brings up a message "Verify its you, Google need to verify its yo" like its still tryijng to connect. I have tried everyhting all suggestions on the internet and it still asks me as if the act was still attached. Its SO annoying as it pops up all the time. Please help me get rid of this

I'm tryin the best way to ask this question... I've always had my freenet address associated with the local folders. I also have a gmail address. This time when I reinstalled thunderbird and used my previous profile it separates the freenet address and the local folders. So now when I get a new email it goes into the freenet inbox but that is not where all my older mail and subfolders are - they are in local folders and the local folder is not getting any new mail. This is distressing because I organize my mail when it comes in and now I have two different places where my mail is.

The gmail is unaffected.

I have tried installing twice and same issue.

I tried to send something and Thunderbird blocked it with yellow box on the bottom i could not d find out where or how to remove or unblock t and i also get it in Drafts too but how do i remove in Thunderbird please tell me where and how to unblock attachment remove the yellow box to unlock something please

Email older than several weeks in mail subfolders is blank in Thunderbird and looks like binary within buffer D:\WORKSPACE\Computer Tech\Config & Buffers\Thunderbird Stuff\Profiles\dq1ljd8g.default\Mail\Inbox Archive I assume that the mail resembling binary has been compacted, but it appears that Thunderbird cannot un-compact the messages. Need some help, please.

I've been using Thunderbird for years at this point and it was fine, but then some time after the latest update I stopped getting new emails. I tried a bunch of random "solutions" I found on the internet and I don't remember exactly which one, but eventually I got the web portal to pop up, and it showed that I'm logged out of all my accounts (they all gmail, btw). Using this windows I was able to log back into one of them, but then it didn't popped up again to let me to log into others. For a day or so I was getting email from that one account I logged back into, but then again, suddenly, no new emails. I decided to just start over on a new profile and that's where things went from bad to worse. Now I can't even get past the initial logging process. It gives me "unable to log in at sever" over and over, no matter what I try. I tried a bunch of different config suggestions, I tried the old school way of getting a device password, I've checked if localhost was running something - it wasn't. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, installing an older esr version (I'm on Win10, thought maybe that has something to do with it) - same thing. Unable to log in at server. I can switch back to my old profile that doesn't get any emails anymore, I've backed it up, but what's the point. Kinda feeling screwed on all fronts here.

Also, whoever is replying to people on reddit with "thunderbird employee" badge, ghosted me after one message. Great support /sarcasm.

Version: latest (whatever auto updated updated to) and 140.8.1esr OS: win10. Mail provider: gmail.

I have created several categories that I use to assign a color to each of my calendar event entries. When I do this, the event shows a very thing stripe of my assigned category color down the righthand side of the entry. I would REALLY like the entries to be colored entirely with my category colors rather than that tiny stipe. Is this feature available and if not, I am hoping it can be considered in the very near future.

Using Thunderbird version 140.8.0esr on Windows 10 . Been trying to reorganize local folders. Thunderbird is NOT correctly alphabetizing local folders. I've beaten myself to death googling for answers, and nearly every entry claims you can right click on the account name and select "Reset Folder Order" and it will take care of it.

there IS no such option! Anywhere!

Other answers claim you can drag the folders manually into the correct order. Not happening!

There must be a real answer to this issue. Where do I find it? And please don't advise upgrading to Windows 11 - this CPU/motherboard won't support 11.
