I have had problems accessing my email server (EveryMail). Problem started about 2 weeks ago. Was no problem before. I am using unified folders. Sometimes a folder property (inbox for instance) shows all email accounts but nothing selectable. Other times an account might have only inbox selectable, other times all account labels are visible. Selecting options for deleted folder only shows inbox for most email accounts. Similar for spam.

Using the get new mails button or the time interval setting may find some messages but not all. The imap mail server is mailin.telia.com. I have been using Thunderbird for several years without such issues until now several months ago. Are there any new settings I should be avare of?

Since yesterday when I open Thunderbird to check my bigpond emails on my laptop I get a message that says "Enter your password for mail.bigpond.com" - I've never had to enter a password in all the many years I've been using Thunderbird on my lap top. I can get the emails on my phone and on Telstra webmail but I prefer Thunderbird. Also get a message that says "Mozilla Thunderbird login timed out" When I put in the password I use for Telstra webmail it says "Host contacted sending login information" but then I get another message Login to mail.bigpond.com with user name ealinta@bigpond.net au failed Retry...

Not sure if this is connected to not getting emails on my phone for a week and going in to Telstra yesterday where they fixed that problem...

For both servers imap.exmail.qq.com / imap.263.net, when I click on the email subject in the email list during downloading processes (many emails headers are being downloaded but email body downloading is not completed), the email is broken without any content (only header).

I go to the web email server and move the email to another folder and then move it back to inbox. Then I delete the same email in Thunderbird and donwload again the email again, it's completely downloaded with the email body.

I don't have any issue with eM client or Outlook for such issues. Any possible setting to solve this issue?

My emails will not download in Thunderbird. It shows a server connection but the server is fine. I can even hear the tone like emails are downloading but I cannot find them.

Issue is with spectrum server mail.twc.com. Error message sending and rec e mail. "Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.twc.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections." "Server timed out" Server settings are correct. need help!!

Windows 10 Thunderbird Version 159.0 (64-bit)

Today, Nov. 5, opened Thunderbird & got the Error message: Unable to write the email to the Mailbox. I have no idea why this happened. Turned off the antivirus for email, but that did no good.

Thunderbird worked fine yesterday

Suddenly was unable to send mail on either of my laptops. I have uninstall and reinstalled Thunderbird and windows. All of the SMTP setting are correct. I have tried different combinations of settings but no luck. I have tried every fix on the internet. I am using Spectrum (TWC) for internet. I talked to them but got nowhere. I've used Thunderbird for years and have donated to keep it going. I really like it and don't want to change. Hope you have a way to get me going again. Thanks, Mike

ich bitte um Hilfe, seit dem letzten Update von Thunderbird auf 159.0 (64-Bit) sind meine Mailaccounts verschwunden. Eins konnte ich wieder einrichten, das von T-Online bringt als Fehler ständig "Fehler bei der Authentifizierung" obwohl alles korrekt ist. Thunderbird kann sich automatisch die Serverdaten für IMAP holen, aber sobald ich das Passwort eingebe kommt der Fehler. Das Passwort habe ich jetzt bereits geändert, dennoch funktioniert es nicht. Was kann ich tun?

My two Optimum email accounts (POP3) stopped sending messages. See attached error message. They are still working on a different computer with the exact same settings and Thunderbird version (Windows 10 on both too). I also have Outlook and Gmail accounts all still sending fine. Sending from troubleshooting mode and clearing the startup cache didn't help. Any clues what I can try?

About a week or so ago my Win11 laptop stopped downloading my emails reliably. When I open Thunderbird it goes to the server and then to the server inbox and then closes down. This happens most of the time. Occasionally it randomly will download all of the emails accumulated that it had not downloaded before although I haven't done anything differently that I'm aware of. I use Network Solutions to host the email server. I called Network Solutions and they could see nothing wrong. The only thing I see that was not happening before is that I am getting an inordinate number of threat Mcafee popups that I can't seem to stop. I don't know if this has anything to do with it. This has been incredibly frustrating because I don't know what to do. Any help is more than appreciated! It says Thunderbird is up to date and I think the version is 153.6.0esr(64Bit)

Sometimes when I go to my inbox it says "no new messages", when I have several hundred. and sometimes in the Send Folder too. I have to click on "All Mail" to see them. Does this happen to anyone else? What can I do to change this?

I am experiencing a persistent SMTP authentication failure when sending emails from my personal Outlook.com account using Thunderbird.

My configuration:

Operating system: Windows 11 Pro (64-bit)

Thunderbird version: 159.0 (32-bit)

Account type: Personal Outlook.com account

What works:

Receiving emails via IMAP works correctly.

Sending and receiving emails through Outlook.com webmail works correctly.

My other Microsoft email account works in Thunderbird.

What does not work:

Sending emails from my new Outlook.com account through Thunderbird consistently fails.

The SMTP server returns:

535 Authentication unsuccessful – SmtpClientAuthentication is disabled for the Mailbox.

Outgoing SMTP settings

Server: smtp-mail.outlook.com

Port: 587

Connection security: STARTTLS

Authentication method: OAuth2

Username: Full Outlook.com email address

Troubleshooting already performed

Checked all SMTP server settings.

Verified that OAuth2 is selected.

Removed previously saved authentication credentials.

Repeated Microsoft OAuth2 authentication successfully.

Retested sending messages. The same error persists.

Thunderbird's Error Console confirms that the failure occurs during the AUTH XOAUTH2 authentication exchange.

The server explicitly reports that SmtpClientAuthentication is disabled for the Mailbox.

Questions

Is this a known Thunderbird issue affecting SMTP OAuth2 authentication with personal Outlook.com accounts?

Could Thunderbird be generating an incorrect XOAUTH2 authentication request?

Can Thunderbird provide a more detailed SMTP diagnostic log to identify the cause?

Does this error indicate that Microsoft's SMTP service is rejecting an otherwise valid OAuth2 authentication request?

Is there any known workaround or can this issue be escalated to the Thunderbird developers?

I would appreciate a technical investigation rather than another general configuration guide, as the standard troubleshooting steps have already been completed.

Unable to open the summary file for Sent on xxxx@gmail.com. Perhaps there was an error on disk, or the full path is too long. I have tried to connect my second gmail account. The first one went ok. With the 2nd on the Inbox and All Mail folders initially gave this error, but Repair fixed both, Sent and all other folders have this error and Repair no longer fixes the problem. Then I noticed that I was then unable to delete emails from 2 inboxes including Thundermail inbox.

I can not down load Emails from Yahoo to Thunderbird. Every things was fine as of Aug 26th. On Aug 27th with no changes to any system settings the Yahoo Emails would not down Load. I am running Win 10 on my system. I disabled the antivirus. Reloaded Thunderbird - no effect.

I have since deleted Thunderbird and then reinstalled latest version of Thunderbird (154.0) . I re-entered my password. I checked the OAuth2 settings and they are set as described in the support article "OAuth2 Authentication for Yahoo, AOL and ATT".

Message bar at bottom of Thunderbird screen shows: Myaccountname@yahoo.com:Downloading message 1 of 7 The emails do not down load - then after a few minutes - a no messages to download message flashes and then blank - nothing

I am out of Ideas. Anyone?
