The only link scaner that works is WOT, what about AVG and the rest of them?
When i used to browse, McAfee, AVG, Avast, Norton used to show whether a web site was safe or not. Now it seems like WOT is the only link scanner that works. Can anyone explain why?

It's complicated. The only way to download these items is to download the entire programs and try to follow the directions after that. These rapid release versions are the problem. Thanks for your help. iman

because you only have wot installed you need to install them.
Note that Firefox comes with built-in phishing and malware protection.
This phishing-protection thing doesn't work for what i am looking for. Avast antivirus, AVG, COMMODE, Malwarebytes-anti-Malware and others will block dangerous sites. They all have link scanners and when i look at or for a website all of the above and WOT verify their safety. Some of these websites aren't dangerous or parts of them are and parts are not. Should i disable all the other link scanners including WOT? Please advise and thanks for the help.
I tried to install them but i couldn't. I Even the AVG (Stand Alone) link scanner didn't work. I have a bunch of link scanners that used to work, McAfee, Avast, Etc, but they aren't working now. I didn't know if every one updating their software was the problem. Please Advise and thanks for the help Colbabomb.
Did you download with the security program or just the toolbar?
The security program (AVG link scanner) is a stand alone product, Norton safe web is a free tool from Norton-I do not have the security program. Avast, I do have the security program. The point is these security tools used to work and now they do not. when i searched for something these little shields would appear next to the results along With WOT. Please advise. Thanks, iman.

The problem is not rapid release updates, if you really think that you should try out FIrefox ESR, which updates once a year, so you dont have to be annoyed by "rapid updates", you may want to uninstall firefox then install esr.
