I have a really weird problem.

I use FF 4 and I also have these app tabs. When you open a link in a new window, this window does not contain these apps. I also noticed that this window does not show suggestions based on my browsing history when I begin typing in the address bar. That's no problem for me -I'm not sure though if this is normal.

Now my problem: I had two windows opened. Number 1 is the "original" window (= normal), with the app tabs and the browser history showing up. Number 2 is a new window I opened when right-clicking a link. So, I closed window 1 and after that I closed window 2. Now, when I open FF, I get the last window, what means: It doesn't work as it is supposed to. (It shows no browser history, etc.) It's hard for me to explain, but I hope you understand ;)

My question: How do I get the "original" window back?

You can try:

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

See:

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
  • Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

I tried shutting down all extensions, but that didn't solve the problem. The localstore solution didn't work as well. Anyone else has an idea?
