What troubleshooting steps have you tried? This looks like an OS issue and not a browser issue. What happens when you try to save to another directory? What OS? What version of Firefox? Did you try with Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/diagnose-firefox-issues-using-troubleshoot-mode#w_how-to-start-firefox-in-4troubleshoot-modesf5safe-modesf Did you clear your browser cache? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/clear-cookies-and-site-data-firefox The message is talking about the directory. see your screenshot

Hi, yeah I tried downloading in troubleshooting mode and also cleared browser cache, nothing worked, also this is a firefox specific problem because I tried it on chrome and everything downloaded just fine...I don't know what is causing this issue because I don't even see any settings that I could've messed with to have this happen.

So where are you downloading from and what are the files?

This screenshot is showing me download Godot 4.4 from firefox but afterward I downloaded it from chrome with zero issues...but it really doesn't matter what I try to download because I always get the same error I tried every possible troubleshooting method the next thing to try is to delete and redownload maybe

Is there a reason you can't provide the link or site so one can see what it is doing?

No issues downloading like you. see screenshots Your issue is that you cannot save to that location. You have also failed to show us an attempt to download to another location.

Yeah you might not have the issue but I always have this happen to me no matter which location I try to download to, I tried setting every single drive as my default setting and I even checked the "Always ask you where to save files" option on but this error pops up before I even choose a directory to save to so it's not like I can even save to some other location lol. Honestly the only solution I see rn is to delete firefox and download again and if it persists I'll just switch back to using chrome as my default and save myself a lot of headache.

Let's not be so quick to give up. Are you running Win home or pro? If pro, see what happens with windows Sandbox(VM), once up and running, install Firefox and see if you have the same issue. https://www.howtogeek.com/399290/how-to-use-windows-10s-new-sandbox-to-safely-test-apps/ What security software besides MS Defender are you running? You can also boot into Windows safe mode with networking to test.
