Hi PIJUSH DEBNATH

Could you please start a new thread for your question?

Then you can provide more information like your operating system and possible installed extensions.

Hi eyegem

Did you lose other settings as well like history and cookies and settings made via Options/Preferences ?

Are you still using your original profile ?

If you lost personal data then it is possible that a new default-release profile folder has been created. See "Determine if Firefox has created a new profile":

You can open the about:profiles page via the location bar to check whether multiple profiles are present and what profile Firefox currently is using.

Hi co-rel,

I use default profile only and about:config shows only one 'default' profile with two folders (Root ~ AppData/Roaming and Local ~ AppData/Local)

And every time I lose all new (i.e. created since last Firefox start) bookmarks and (yes) history URLs.

It feels really terrible to lose information you trust Firefox to save. As user I expect that Firefox will save to file (not just to sqlite db in memory) and flush bookmarks to disk right away. Because it's most precious user information. But Firefox does so only for pinned tabs (they never lost after crashes).

I need to exit Firefox from time to time after opening many YouTube video tabs (but up to two-three simultaneously only) because Firefox (video plugin?) allocates too much memory and seemingly never manages to release it back, and that causes terrible Windows swapping on my 8Gb RAM system. So I have to File -> Quit. Then Firefox closes and after 2-3 min pause shows Crash Report window. And Firefox never crash if no (or little) YouTube videos were played.

Maybe Firefox tries to shutdown all subsystems while exiting in reverse order and shutdowns video plugin(s) before saving any data from in-memory sqlite profile db? That would be reasonable. But incorrect, since user information is much more important and must be flushed to disk before anything else.

I export all my bookmarks to HTML every month or so, but never required to import them. Or, maybe, once (after major update). Lost bookmarks and history never returned. Sometimes I spend a lot of time collecting interesting bookmarks for future purchases (for example) thru vast amounts of pages and it feels really terrible to lose them all just because Firefox didn't want to just flush profile db data right after bookmarks were created or modified.

I didn't check Options/Preferences yet.
