I want to NOT use Google on my new phone. I would like to be able to somehow access Thunderbird calendar and contacts on it by using a third-party app. Can anyone advise me if they have done this, and which apps I should use for contacts and calendar?

At the moment I am attempting to do it with Simple Calendar.

Mail is synced between TB and other devices by setting up the account as IMAP on TB and the phone's mail app. Calendars and contacts can be synced with the TbSync add-on, which supports other providers besides Google.
