Firefox Version 57.0 Cancelled Out Depended Upon Apps-HELP!
Mozilla/Firefox recently upgraded to v.57.0 and several add-ons that many depended upon (Legacy add-ons were suddenly gone!) vanished. Simple but highly valued, e.x., Password Editor; Email This! (Gmail); and Autofill.
No advance notice was given to Firefox users, the end result being chaos and frustration. Of the hundreds of web addresses I had amassed with Password Editor, Firefox Manager only gave up a handful. Basically, 90% not recoverable.
There appears to be no simple autofill - this is unreal. Password add-ons are more plentiful, although not as convenient and manageable as that which was cancelled. Email This! is irreplaceable also.l Members, if you have any suggestions for add-ons to replace the above-mentioned which were displaced, I would love to hear from you. Thanks in advance!

We are used to that. Apology accepted with out hesitation.
I could have gone further in my reply as jscher2000 did but my interest was to get you back to your irreplaceable data. With any luck you will go back and after the uninstall the plugins will be there and working.
So March gives you time to get your info and find a replacement. In-between some old extensions are still being updated to the new code and People fill the gaps that are left. So I would think there would be a lot more alternatives by March to move to and included the extension finder URL. If go back to my message you will find the URL with instructions to back up your Profile
In ver 57 in the 3 Dot Menu in the Address Bar is a Email Link I would think that it would send the page tittle and the URL only.

Going back : unfortunately 56.0.2 and below is no longer safe to use for every day use do to security issues, but 52.5.0 ESR is. It will continue to get security updates until May 2018, and you can download and install it from this page: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/ Note : Legacy Extensions will be deleted or removed in any version update after May 2018.
You should make a backup of your Profile before going back and just because: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles
try : https://mozilla.github.io/extension-finder/
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Sorry to hear the change was so disruptive for you, and thank you for sharing your Firefox extensions list. I looked up the three extensions you mentioned:
One of the authors has a replacement, but I don't know how you move your saved data between the two extensions.

This sounds like it was really cool: Email This! will send your recipient the link, title, & highlighted text of the page you are viewing using GMail, Google Apps GMail, Yahoo, and Stand-Alone Mail Clients like Outlook Express, Thunderbird, & More! I don't know if there is another similar extension, but when I look at the code of the extension, I think it's very possible to create one.
The editor accesses Firefox's built-in password manager data, so your logins should still be available. Were they missing on yours? You should find the Saved Logins button on the Options page, as described in this article: Password Manager - Remember, delete and edit logins and passwords in Firefox.
However, when you use the built-in Saved Logins dialog, you won't be able to modify any fields other than username and password (double-click to edit). I don't know how critical that is for you.
Thanks for your welcome response.
If I understand your directives, especially the possibility of returning to 52.5.0 ESR . . . the question arises - will the same literally bring back the contents/entries of the Password Editor add-on before the update? And, assuming the answer is yes, what happens after May 2018? Hopefully new, similar extensions would be excellent, or another void? (an unhappy reviewer of 57.0 wrote that it was gobbling up his PC's RAM).
After diligent searching, it appears that there are no comparable add-ons to either "Email This! (Gmail)", and/or "Autofill". Plenty of Password alternatives, although none as easy, convenient, and user friendly as Password Editor (which was explained to be just a convenient extension of Firefox Manager (incidentally, of my hundred+ entries, Firefox Manager save only a smidgen of what was listed). I am hopeful that 52.5.0 ESR will present my entries as they were before this fiasco.
One Autofill was located by developer, Sarah Av. (AutoFill Forms Web Extension 0.3.2). At first I was excited but rapidly grew disheartened when I began to doubt that it would be compatible with v.57.0. There appears to be a question of that. Reviews are not good. The latter is the only alternative autofill site found! The developers of "Password Editor" and "Email This!" have replied that they will not be updating . . . .
Yes, I will make a backup of my profile; having said that, not to appear dense, but in which manner? In truth I must confess that my confidence digresses when it comes to this function (!)
Sorry for the diatribe! =:) - and a big thank you!

Hey, jscher2000, Thanks for your input, always welcome!
The AutoFill you mention I perused at length, by developer, Sarah Av. Reviews are very deficient, app. apparently not working. Moreover, I was confused in that at first I thought it was a replacement for v.57.0, but in reality, I don't believe it to be compatible. You might want to check it out further . . . .
Email This! what a loss! A dandy, handy blip to send something super fast with the link as content and the subject line description. A real loss. Possibly another developer could set this app up anew compatible with the Quantum extensions?
As to Password Editor, it was a convenient play on the Firefox Manager security setting for logins. I didn't know this until yesterday! BUT, when I went there to recoup my entries, only a handful of passwords were left - exactly what happened to my more than a hundred+ were missing.
Honestly, I do miss all three of my most cherished, super-helpful apps. But, I've got to stop this complaining, After all, it is what it is, nes pau? =:)
But I think I will be returning shortly to 52.5.0 ESR , as PkShadow has suggested (above).
Here's a replacement for the Gmail portion of the Email Link extension. You install it as a bookmarklet on either your Bookmarks Toolbar or Boomarks Menu (as you prefer). Then to call up a new Gmail compose window, click the button.
It won't run on sites that use "Content Security Policy" to block external scripts, but hopefully that will be a very rare problem for you.
