suddenly no incoming or sent emails are showing
Using 52.2.1 on my PC laptop. Sync with AOL (yes last user...no jokes). Been getting emails and storing all sent and received local as well. Love this program, but suddenly I noticed that there are no new emails or sent showing for the past 4 days (been away from the computer). I can get the emails on my phone through an app. I can log on to server through chrome. I even downloaded a different email program for my PC and was able to access, so I know the IMAP/STMP settings are correct. I deleted Thunderbird, reinstalled. I even tried to look for a newer beta version 55 or something...nothing worked.
So, If no settings changed on my end, the server works through the internet or another email program, completed delete and reinstall of Thunderbird...what can possibly be going on?
UPDATE: It has pulled in some emails from my INBOX subfolders...but not from my main INBOX folder where I need it the most! Also, it is now pulling in my sent files. In this time, I did get a message, Connection to server timed out...but just closed and reopend the program. I cannot yet tell if it's updating anymore. The blue spinning wheel keeps turning on the tab, so it's thinking about something. Internet is strong, speedtest 100/100 up/down.

Sounds like it may have initially sometime during those 4 days tried to many times and essentially got the equal to a timeout or grounding from the remote server side and is for some unknown reason having difficulty trying to redownload the headers and emails ( most likely issue) and extending past either the per connect timeout and or attempts in X mins OR both in an attempt to catch up. Do you perchance have a large number of emails say 50,000 or more in that inbox or totally.
AOL/Yahoo/Verizon whatever they are calling themselves today is having issues. http://downdetector.com/status/aol
The emails started to come in late last night. I let the machine run overnight to populate my inbox & sent emails. Woke up this morning to same as yesterday...completely empty inbox and some emails in subfolders. Also, nothing seems to be saved locally.
Easy to say it's AOL server, but I tried another email client and it pulled in everything fairly quickly. I'd hate to leave thunderbird but just can't sit idle with no email and having to run my business from my phone...
I do have about 60K emails saved on the server, but just installed it all fine a few months ago quickly and seamlessly.
Any thoughts?
Most everyone with Yahoo and AOL are having problems today. A quick look at this forum and the Yahoo form tells you that.
Use any email client you want. That is your choice.
