I don't have spell check facility I followed instructions Menu, options, advanced, general but no spell checking option, I've updated to latest thunderbird version but no spell check option. I have checked the boxes in composition, spelling, check spelling before sending, enable spell check as you type, correction box pops up but no words in it.

Have you selected a dictionary? If so, which one?'
The language tab was greyed so I tried 'download more dictionaries' I downloaded 'English UK' this seems to have worked now many thanks for your help.
