I have enabled the option to open the previous windows and tabs. I had one window that I always closed last as it had a lot of groups that are important for my work, so it used to open every time I started Firefox. Sometimes, even if I closed the window by mistake without closing other windows, I was able to get it back by pressing ctrl+shift+n.

But yesterday, I might have closed it by mistake and when I pressed ctrl+shift+n , it didn't come back. I wasn't able to access my window and now it's all gone. I don't see anything in recently closed windows in history.

I need those tabs back as they are very important for my work. they were a lot of tabs. I had many groups but now all are gone. I tried by using the previous.jsonlz4 in the sessionstore-backup by renaming it in the default-release profile as sesstionstore.jsonlz4 but still wasn't able to access my window.

I didn't clear my history as the tabs opened in the window still show up in the history.

Kindly help as soon as possible

Not sure if this is the correct topic, but I have been using Firefox for over 20 years, and after the last update, there is an icon missing from my Firefox browser page. It's the "file" icon in the very upper left corner of the window that allows "new tab", "new window", etc. I'm still using windows10, on an ASUS PC, but never had the problem until just recently. I've restarted the computer, reloaded the window, nothing works to restore that icon/function. Thanks - Mike B

When I try to make a Google search I get the following message, "I'm not a robot" with a reCAPTCHA: "Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. This page checks to see if it's really you sending the requests, and not a robot. Why did this happen?". This happens on Firefox, but not Chrome or Edge. If I 'Allow' Google in the 'Exceptions - Cookies and Site Data' then I do not get the message, but it takes several seconds for Google display the resulting page. However, if I delete the cookies/cache the message will return and I have to redo the reCAPTCHA. I have scanned with Malwarebytes, Bitdefender, Hitman Pro, Trend Micro House Call and Microsoft Defender, nothing detected. Running Win 10 (64) with 'Extended Security Updates', Firefox 147.0 (64), no additional Extensions or Plugins. Also I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox.

Since latest upgrade (1/16/2026) I cannot log in to Outlook email. This is specific to Firefox 147.0.1 (Chrome and Pop Peeper logins to Outlook work fine). I tried clearing cache, updating, restarting, rebooting, trouble-shooting mode, private window etc. to no avail. I get 400 error from Outlook.

Followed unstall and trying to remove remaining folders, data from computer.

I cannot del these folders, etc despite being admin mode or from command line.

whats next.

I want to do a fresh install of Firefox but wont install firefox again if I have to an computer reimage.

Something's wrong with my Tumblr. When Firefox crashed before it updated, my Tumblr has completely broke (It won't show any notifcations that someone posted, the activity is stuck at 2 and community at 6). PLEASE HELP

Hi I just saw the new info on backing up my Firefox data. It sounded good, so I tried it. However I do not see 'Manage Backup'. Instead it asks 'Choose backup file'. I have never knowingly backed up Firefox, so I do not know where this backupfile is located... How can I find it? How do I create a new backup file? Many thanks An

How do I keep my menu bar showing after the last updates of 147.0? F10 is only temporary as I click or type it vanishes again. The customize toolbar wasn't helpful. I want words not symbols.

I opened FF this afternoon and it op0end like a new first time install- asking about setting up some damn profiles and showing news, AI, weather and crap I do not want or use..

I can not seem to restore it. All bookmarks, PW, menu bars and links are now gone.

I've got a new SSD and have reinstalled Firefox as my browser. In the past I've had the address field on the left and the search field to its right. I can get the search field on the same level as the address field but have not been able to switch their locations.

I have attached a screen shot of that section of my browser home page.

I'd like to import my bookmarks on a newly installed Firefox system. To do this, I need to log in and enter a verification code. This code arrives by email, but only after a few hours. So it's too late to enter it.

My friend recommended this browser to me. When I tried to customize it, I couldn't find an option to change the hotkeys to my preference. I consider this feature important since I use it for work. Can I do this somehow, and is there any plan to add such a feature to the settings?
