I have set up list to display names only for each member. My account shows names plus star when I send an email, but when replies come back to me, all addresses are displayed.

In the 'Address Book'

  • select the address book
  • double click on contact to edit
  • Display Name: This is the name that will appear in the FROM and TO fields.
  • select: 'always prefer display name over mesage header'

If you are receiving emails that do not display the 'Display Name', but there is a yellow star after the email address, then you have more than one entry for that contact, maybe in a different address book. So check all address books including 'Collected Addresses' for that email address.

If there is a yellow star next to the addresses in the received email, then that email address is in an address book. If there is no yellow star, then that email address is not in an address book.

Thanks for your help - makes sense. I cleaned up my contact lists (many duplicates) so I think this action will solve my problem. Yukon78
