Hi there!

FF11 does add-on syncing, but not search engine syncing (this would be even easier i guess...)

PLEASE don't forget that feature in FF12!

Hi!

The team is working in the roadmap as we speak so I will pass the feedback.

It will not make it for Firefox 12 but it may land in one of the upcoming versions.

Btw,

what is meant by add-on : "plugins" or "extensions" or both? my plugins were not synced today between FF11 on a mac and FF11 on a Win7 system.

Especially the Adobe pdf reader for FF on Win did not migrate to FF on mac (where i have the schubert-it plugin). i mention this because years ago i manually migrated a whole firefox-profile of a win-system copy and paste on my mac. for several years, FF on my mac could open pdfs within the browser because i accidentally migrated the "add-on" from a win to mac FF profile.

Extensions add extra features to Firefox.
Plugins make it possible to handle content that Firefox can't handle by itself like playing media files (e.g. Flash) or displaying PDF files.
In such a case you need to install a program or plugin to handle that content.

You can't sync plugins because those aren't handled by Firefox (added by external programs) and are also platform specific. A plugin for Mac will never run on Windows. Extensions can be synced starting with Firefox 11 versions and syncing other data may be added in future Firefox versions.

HI there!

i hope you still consider featuring search engine syncing in FF13???

(please do not comment in bug reports)

hmm. it seems to be very very difficult to copy some files from one folder to another. i guess for now, dropbox and a single manual copy and paste will serve as well... :-(

maybe we hope for this feature in FF14??? PLEASE!!!!
